No more flaffing around, it's crunch time. It's important we make OT a fortress again and get the fear factor back. The thought of our lily-livered home performances over the last few seasons is enough to get my ulcer raging, we just need to turn those draws into wins! I feel that a run of good results (even if not accompanied by performance) will lift this current bunch and with confidence will come the swagger. I voted a draw, because I'm a miserable git that was scarred by last season, but I'm looking forward to putting that all behind us! Damn near voted draw myself, but my inner muppet would have beaten me to death Complete optimist when it comes to United kicking some ass ! (learned that as Chicago Cubbies fan, may United have same results this season as Cubs did last ! ) KILL HAMMERS! 5-0

Oh how I have missed football so... not just this summer, but more or less since Fergie left (bar the occasional game). I really hope we play some good football this year again, it's been so long. I'm so tired of the average match (such as this one) being a slog with either relief or anger at the end, but little enjoyment. Here's hoping that can change.

I'm optimistic for this season, I think Matic will prove to be a really good addition, I thing Pogba is going to have a great season, and I think Lukaku will score the goals that will turn last seasons draws into this seasons wins.
If memory serves I think this is one of the many fixtures we dropped points in last year so we need to hit the ground running and send the message out to visiting teams that Old Trafford is a different prospect this year, parking the bus and hoping for the odd counter or set piece won't work, we need to be tearing them a new one.
It's a long time since we gave anyone a proper "Shellacking" so that might be too much to expect in the seasons opener but I'm confident we'll win this and win it comfortably.
I'm going 2-0 Lukaku & Pogba.
I'll be watching this one in the "1999 Suite" as well thanks to my former employers so a 3-course meal, a free bar and 3 points would make a very good Sunday.

Our sketchy makeshift defense and LB situation made Real look better the other night. The narrative from papers was the gulf in class, but I think some nervous weakness in defense and a dodgy goal took away from some really positive signs in MF and our ability to open them up at will
Once again this year the finnishing is the key to winning this league. It sounds obvious, but Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lingard , etc really have to start finnishing and making good decisions in front of goal . We had 3 or 4 open goals or one on one with the keeper situations in the Super cup and missed. That was last seasons story until we tired out.
I think we will be far too fit and strong for this lot and win 3-0 ..

Hello, I got my ticket for the West Ham game in Block N3403 (North Tier 2 Upper) & I changed it to N1403 (North Tier 1 Lower last section before the lower north east quadrant)I was just wondering if this was a good move as I was thinking some of the atmosphere from the J stand might spill over as being in the north stand is like being in a library. Was this a good move?

Was this a good move? Sure you'll be fine wherever you are on Sunday,75,000 people will be there, can't see it being library-like anywhere to be honest.

Was this a good move? It depends what your after I suppose mate, I used to sit up in tier 2 and I enjoyed it, the atmosphere was fine. You get a good view of the whole pitch too that you don't really get from low in the corner. I'm sure the atmosphere will be good anywhere in the ground on Sunday though so I wouldn't worry about it.

3-1 us. I think Chicharito will score, and probably the first goal of the contest. He won't celebrate it though, because he knows we still love him.
Lukaku, Pogba, and Mkhitaryan to score.
Very curious what our team sheet is going to be. Would love to see Mata start and play every game, but I feel he's going to be the odd man out.
Can't wait to see Perisic in action.
