Interesting read. I had a drunken discussion with my brother a few years ago about the lack of 'creative' black players. At that time, out of all the great black players in history, there were very few that were or had been the main creative outlet for their club. The black players are usually the pacy winger, or the powerful forward, or the midfield enforcer, or the quick centre back. You very rarely see a black #10 or midfield playmaker at a top club. This led us to two possible conclusions: First that racism is prevalent in football and that black players just aren't trusted in creative positions. And second, that black players are shunted into positions at a young age where their athletic ability or physical strength are a huge advantage and aren't really given the opportunity to develop the more creative aspects of the game. I mean, a lot of the most creative black players aren't all that athletically gifted or play the game at a slower tempo - Ronaldinho, Jay Jay Okocha, and Jean Seri are good examples. It was just drunken rambling, but I think there could be an element of truth to it, and I think it's an interesting topic.
