Yep. Everybody and I mean everybody in the pub said he'd miss beforehand. I think there's a touch of the Andy Cole's about Lukaku (and I mean that as a positive) When he's instinctive, bang-goal. When he has time to think he doesn't look nearly as lethal.

Yeah I was worried when I saw he was taking it. He missed one against us in the FA Cup, but I knew I'd seen him miss quite a few more. Some people just aren't good at taking pens. His body shape was all wrong anyway. You wouldn't have to be a mind reader to know which way he was going. He might as well have pointed and screamed "I'M GOING THAT WAY" as he took it.

I personally think there's no excuse to miss a penalty for a Manchester United attacker anyway, but Lukaku's record is really quite poor imo. Think Martial, Mata or Ander would be better at them. I get the feeling Rasher wouldn't be at this stage, nor Mkhi.

Considering Kasper was moving well before Lukaku struck the ball he had time to adjust and put the ball to the right but Romalu is more about brute force than intelligence, Also the ball was at a saveable height, not a very good penalty really.

Seems to be getting to much talk about this pen miss from lukaku Ronaldo messi have all missed them zlat last year 2, hopefully we have a few lined up to take them so if somebody misses the nx person gets a chance

To me, strikers should be taking PKs. Putting the ball away is what they are paid for, and from the spot should be in 9/10 times. Sometimes failure can lead a driven player to stay after training and work out weaknesses....hope this is the case with Lukaku.

I really don't think it's a huge issue. We should be looking to win games without the need of a penalty. Having said that I've always preferred more finesse type players to take penalties. If he's on the pitch Mata would be my first choice, followed by Pogba.

My memories' shit so if he has taken them and missed then just ignore me, but the cool Dutch temperament, lovely left foot, and of course his film star looks to hypnotise the 'keeper all mark him down as a pen taker in my book. |

He can't be worse than he is at other set peices. Can't take a corner for shit. As for taking them, give them to Pogba, even if the keeper gets in the way the shot will be that powerful it'll take the keeper in the net with it. |

A striker wants to score all the time thats why you could see Lukaku snatching at the ball to take it, he just needs to work on the execution.
