Sure Fellaini is back now, Jose wouldn't have been picking Scott anyway.

Gary Neville has questioned whether or not Scott McTominay is good enough to play in midfield for Manchester United as the youngster looks to emulate the retiring Michael Carrick.
McTominay made his sixth Premier League start for United's in their goalless stalemate with West Ham on Thursday, as Jose Mourinho continues to put his trust in the midfielder.
Despite winning Mourinho's Player of the Year award at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony, former United right back Neville hasn't been sold on McTominay just yet.
Following the game at the London Stadium, Neville suggested that the 21-year-old might be better suited in the defence given his physique but wasn't convinced McTominay could marshal the midfield for a club like United.
'Pogba has fallen short in terms of quality [this season], far too inconsistent,' said Neville on Sky Sports.
'McTominay, when I watch him, I'm not sure he's actually good enough on the ball to be a Man United midfield player.
'I do think he's the type that it's good for him to play games in there - but I do wonder whether if actually he's got more of a position at centre back eventually, the physicality that he has. He's a big lad.
'Is he sharp enough on the ball to be a Man United central midfield player?'
Following his brutal examination of the player, Neville appeared to divide United fans on the issue with some agreeing with his assessment while others pointed out that he's still developing as a player.
One fan pointed out that McTominay lacks creativity and has 'no composure' while another Twitter user advised Neville to keep 'his views to himself'.
The Lancaster-born Scotland international has made 21 appearances in all competitions for United this season but is still yet to score or register an assist for the Red Devils.

Sideways passing and defending are McTominay’s strength right now. At his worst he is Tree 2.0 offensively. At his best he is a pure CDM with no eye for a forward pass. I would still trot him out as a CDM beside Matic and let him develop the forward passing skill. And he should be a viable option for every single minute Tree is supposed to be on the pitch.

I don't think he will ever be good enough for us, but I would rather see him in the squad over the likes of fellaini anyday

Happy for the lad. Feel he gets rough treatment from the fans, so I hope he turns them around like Darren Fletcher did.

What I'm kind of saying though is I have no truck with McTominay, don't understand the grief he gets TBH.

McTominay grew 10 inches in a year. Give him some time to adjust to suddenly being 6'4". I don't see why people have written him off so quickly.

give the lad some time. just because hes 22 it doesn't mean hes matured fully. let him develop and learn. O'Shae, Fletcher, Brown for example were never world beaters at that age. hes a united lad and he will want to stay here. if he doesn't improve to be united quality then we will sell him and make some cash on an academy product.
he isn't being the next scapegoat though as that's unfair

Very much unlike Ed. Paying someone to occupy the best seat in the house until 2023. I'd expect him to sell the bench's naming rights and charge £150k for a season ticket.
Seriously, I haven't seen anything from McTominay which he does exceptionally well. My bet is that he'll be moved on fairly soon. He needs to play football at his age, and we're not in a position to offer regular football to players at his level. He may develop to have a solid career elsewhere.
