Glad your back. Best lay off the fags. Believe it or not, Monty the wife stopped smoking months ago and I was following suit eventually, cut them down to about 10 in two days. When the old lung collapsed I had 10 cigs sitting in the kitchen cupboard and had not touched one for 3 days, but that is the cigarette bit over with and the 10 I had left the wife binned them. Have not had a drink yet for 3 weeks and I won't indulge in that until I know I am a 100%.

Best get back on them, 3 at a time.

Lol, the wife would do her nut (and my daughter) if I stuck a fag in my gob again after this carry-on, think I will just plod along like this and actually, I don't feel too bad at the moment craving wise, eating a wee bit more but I can hack that.

Glad you're well mate. My dad had a stroke in summer 2015 and my mum & I told him if he ever had another cigarette we'd kill him. To my knowledge he hasn't - saved him a lot of money!

The wife worked out she has saved around £300/400 on not buying cigs since she stopped, I would say that I have saved out around £200 a week on cigs since I cut down but it will be more now I have stopped. My daughter said that if she ever walked in here and seen me with a cig or even outside she would stick that cig right up the back of my arse, and knowing my daughter she would lol.

The cheapest cig's (20s) here in Scotland is around £7.35, but better-known brands like B&H can cost between £8.odds and £9 for a packet of 20, you tend to smoke more if you have a night on the old booze but funny enough I smoked less when I was drinking. But that's me finished with them now and I woke up this morning and felt fine, no craving, and the good thing is we never ever smoked in front of our grandsons as they never liked the smell of a cig, that's 3 weeks now and counting the dosh saved.

I quit about 5 years ago after smoking for almost 20 years. It was a real struggle for the firt couple of years because I was used to having regular fag breaks at work and most of my colleagues smoked. But after giving up work, things got a lot easier. Just the thought of smoking turns my stomach now.

That's my doctor just been and gave me a check over, looking good so far and no excess fluid building up in my lung as the plastic bottle with the tube inserted into my lung is practically dry, arrange now for an x-ray come Friday morning and if that's all clear then I will stay in overnight and get the tube removed.
