Sanchez was not free to talk terms with anyone back in September. Therefore any agreement - gentleman's or otherwise - would be the very definition of tapping up. EDIT: And that is the problem with agreements such as "gentleman's" or "verbal" , they aren't binding. If city wanted him that badly they would have stumped up the 60mill transfer fee back in the summer. Just like Madrid did with De Gea. They dragged their feet and a fax machine dealt the late blow. Arsenal didn't get a replacement for Sanchez in time and the summer transfer was kiboshed. |
