I'm not sure if this has been discussed but what if Ole becomes our DoF rather than manager at the end of the season? He would provide the connection to our past and our traditions, whilst someone else could do the heavy lifting (managing) e.g. Poch

He would provide the connection to our past and our traditions, whilst someone else could do the heavy lifting (managing) e.g. Poch He's a manager. Doubts he'd be remotely interested. If he doesn't get the United job he'll be getting one somewhere at this rate.

A DOF looks no closer than it was before Jose was sacked.
I expect the club will stuff this one up as well?

We don't want a Director of football, we NEED a Director of football.
These yanks seem to have got one thing right with Ole, now they need to fuck half a dozen things up to being the balance.

Not sure whether to put this here or on Ole's thread but if the club goes for and gets Poch, could Ole make a good DoF?
Would he want it or would he rather be a coach still?
Just a thought as he is a proper United man...
I'm trying to think of a better ex-United person for the job...whoever comes in s DoF needs to really 'get' the clubs DNA...

Van Der Sar Cryuff Neville Carrick Butt I’d love VDS. I think UWS had mentioned Cryuff as someone to keep an eye on a while back. I Ike the idea of a Dutch guy, they’re as stubborn as fuck and we’ll capable of seeing through Ed’s horseshit.

Van der Sar doesn't really do the job we need though. He got a Business Marketing degree or something similar after he finished playing. Overmars does the DOF role at Ajax.
Cryuff would be interesting.

Apparently Paul Mitchell will be offered the dof role, I'd be more then happy with ole staying if we can keep phelan and get in a dof

He has been given a global role at RB and that sounds pretty attractive...one of the things we have going for us is that he's a Manc (hopefully a red!)...
