Bloody hell Your over hear aswell. I am. Not all that active, but I pop in from time to time. Audouc was a mod on here until a few weeks ago, but he's packed it in and probably won't be back. Most of the familiar faces from the old place got chased off by the super serious United>kids>wife contingent on here, but a few stuck around. How's the family? Your daughter must be coming up to school age now? They are good. Yea she just turned 2 in June. Hot a little boy aswell now about to turn 7 months |

Can't properly remember why the original forum closed down but I just gathered the mods stopped giving a shit and let it die. They were really shit to be fair, the main guy who ran the place barely watched a game, think he just thought "Why am I wasting my time doing this!?"
Someone else tried to start it up again but it just didn't work, the original place was very active, rather entertaining and not short on confrontation, a little like this place but not everyone made the jump over to the reboot and it just never had the same feel.
The only people from there that have stayed here long term are me, Monty and Kaushik. Caajscot as well but it would appear he's not coming back.

I still pop over to the reboot site every once in a while, there's still a couple of decent posters over there but it's rather quiet. Only about 4 or 5 regulars posters.

Yeah, Webby wasn't great. He was a decent guy, but I'm not even sure he was a United fan. I think he was just trying to build up a social media empire (I use that word in the loosest possible terms), and chose United as an easy way to do it. To add to your post: The forum started going downhill once the facebook page became popular, which produced an influx of new posters. The Mods weren't happy with the shit quality of the new facebook posters, and neither were the regulars. They wanted to implement some sort of newbie quarantine section like Red Cafe, so they could weed out the facebook twats. The Webmaster didn't want to do that, so all but 1 mod quit. I think a lot of the mods were also pissed off at the cliquey nature of the regular posters, and the drama that it caused. There was also problems with a certain poster with multiple accounts who used to cause drama and was never dealt with. After the mods quit, the place went on for a while with just Jie and Webby, but a few core posters had moved on with the mods, and a lot of other core posters had been banned or had got pissed off with the drama. It finally shut down a few months later when a problem with a backup basically wiped the entire post history of the forum. Webby decided to jack it in instead of try to salvage it. Jie started up a new forum, but it was a shadow of its former self with only a few regulars making the jump. |
