So both the Spanish and French leagues go down to the wire, with both to be decided today. If Atletico and Lille both win, they are champions. Anything else and Real and PSG would both be firm favourites. I imagine Villarreal will field a reserve side which will play into Real’s hands. Ligue 1 games are tomorrow

Villarreal virtually at full strength, which is a bit of a surprise.

Villarreal lead. Boy are they going to give us all sorts of problems on Wednesday.

Atletico losing too and deservedly too. They conceded an early goal and have been rattled.

Diego must have given them a blast at ht because they’ve been brilliant and got the equaliser. And Real just had a goal rules out!

Atletico win the league! Fantastic achievement and great in-game management as they were dreadful in the first half but brilliant in the second.

Barca has managed to score 85 goals compared to 67 by Atletico madrid.
Another example of 'Attack wins you matches but defense wins titles'.

They have a group of CBs that would shoot their nans to stop a goal. Only Jiminez is what you might describe as a star but the rest know exactly what to do when they are called upon. I’d never heard of Felipe until a year or so ago. He looks fantastic for them, exactly what you’d want in a CB. Jose used to know a CB, Simeone is the man now.

Think Zidane has a bad case of not understanding progress.

Lille champions of France. Outstanding achievement considering PSG’s resources. Up there with Leicester a few years ago. A shame the team is going to be raided. If it is though, Botman is one I’m glad we’re linked to.

www.espn.com/soccer/lille/story/4388042/how-lille-defied-the-odds-to-stand-on-the-brink-of-ligue-1-title This is a very good read. A lot of the same factors as Leicester. Goes to show the difference that coaching and savvy transfer dealings can make. Particulary impressed they brought in Campos from Monaco. Meanwhile we are internally promoting Fletcher and Murtough who have zero track record in player recruitment. Funny the way they fleeced Arsenal for £100m for Pepe and Gabriel. That went a long way towards building their title winning team. And much the same story as Atletico. PSG scored way more goals. But Lille had the meanest defence in the league.

It's also funny recalling the meltodwn here when Arsenal allegedly beat us in a "race" to sign those two
