Also, once the Saudis buy Newcastle they will spend an absolute fortune on players to kick start the whole thing. Then concoct some sort of sponsorship deal with a company one of their cousins owns for a billion pounds. Genuinely think UEFA should implement these two rules. They'd get the vast majority of clubs in support I think. 1. Any club owned by a nation state, or an organisation affiliated with a nation state, is banned from all UEFA competition until this is no longer the case. 2. Any form of paid sponsorship where the sponsor is in any way affiliated with either the club or a board member is banned, with a multi-year European competition ban in place for any breaches, as well as a fine amounting to £50m or 150% of the funds in question (whichever is greater). The latter would also fuck a couple of other clubs - Juve have some very dodgy stuff going on with Fiat IIRC - but I think most clubs would think that's all pretty fair. Chelsea would get away with it as Roman isn't nation-state affiliated, but it'd at least get rid of the most ridiculous cases. That second one sounds good except it is completely unfair on small local clubs. My family is heavily involved with Linfield and our firm regularly contributes match day sponsorships etc. I see where you're coming from but you have to remember football goes beyond the corruption. It doesn't even work to say it's only for the higher levels because the likes of Dave Whelan did it entirely legitimately with Wigan.

Maybe set a maximum limit on it, say £10m a season or something for all sources that fall under that description?

Bertie fans were outside the Ethiad talking about the fact that their European reputation had been ‘dragged through the mud’.
What ‘European reputation’?? City?? ffs. Bit like most of their home support - it doesn’t exist.
Also, this entitled attitude because Abu Dhabi are now going to throw another billion at Eastlands. Sympathy is going to be understandably a bit thin on the ground from fans of other clubs. Christ almighty. 😂

Good
La Liga president Javier Tebas has not taken @mancity verdict well: “We have to reassess whether the CAS is the appropriate body to which to appeal institutional decisions in football. Switzerland is a country with a great history of arbitration, the CAS is not up to standard.”

I really hope now that Madrid somehow overcome deficit with city and do them over at the ethiad. A cowardly decision by the CAS but sadly no surprise.

Jose is spot on with his comments regarding City! If they are guilty they shouldn't play, if they are not, then why are they paying a fine!
