His goal against Young Boys wasn’t that long ago? Its good to have a laugh now and then... If we win the CL he’s played his part.

Jones as cover is obviously an infinitely more attractive proposition than Jones as a starter. However I just do not see him being able to consistently provide the level of reliability that we need even as occasional cover. I hope to be proven wrong but I really feel that he should go before he causes any more damage. We need a better level of cover, all he will do is commit more individual errors and spread complete panic by his presence.

Ole has been so good that I completely forget Fellaini even played for us. I will never forget.

Jones and now talk of young getting a new contract, I am a little confused to say the least. Jones as a squad player maybe but young , I just don't get that, he just can't defend

Jones as a squad player maybe but young , I just don't get that, he just can't defend Young has been a liability in recent weeks, but apart from that, he's done a decent job for several seasons now (for me, he's been the one outfield player who stepped up after Fergie retired). Giving him a 12-month contract extension provides us with both experience and adequate cover for our fullback positions, nothing wrong with that.

Back to actual transfer news-
Rabiot isn’t going to Barca after they signed De Jong. We should be all over that.

He’s a good player too, a bit older but would be a good option.

I wouldn't touch Rabiot with a 10' pole. Good player, and someone who could give Matic a game off from time to time. But he's not good enough to risk dealing with his attitude and other baggage. If he was good enough to kick us on from top 4 challengers to title challengers, then he would be worth it. But he's not.

Just doesn't seem worth the possible nonsense that he might bring with him .
