Not sure we were as good as some have said. Felt like we didn’t get out of first gear for most of it. But they’re so bereft of confidence that it didn’t matter. We need to be better on Sunday.

They are asking why we are so much better under Ole than we were under Jose. The one thing they haven't touched on is that Jose had favorites who he played regardless of form. That saps the morale/energy/belief/will from the players who don't get a chance. Martial and Pogba marginalized. Add that to the Fellaini-Lukaku axis, sitting back every time we got a lead, playing purely defensive football, and throwing players under the bus - it's no wonder there was a virus.
Look at Ole's numbers. If we were going to hire Mystery Manager and be promised he'd get 11 wins out of 13, with one draw, while making Pogba our leading scorer with 14 goals, we'd take him in a heartbeat. I'm not sure why there's hesitation on hiring Ole full time. I thought we might be in a period of feeling good in the team while not getting results, but Ole is getting results. His done brilliantly. I love his press conferences, his attitude, everything.

You know, I do actually quite like Shearer. I think he obviously resents us but he usually calls it pretty honestly from what I see. Was just saying a minute ago that we're 2 or 3 players away from being a top side challenging for the major trophies, which I think we'd all agree with.
