This game's gotten really chippy. Exemplified by that flying challenge from Bertrand on Lukaku. I don't remember Southampton being a particularly dirty side but today they are.

As good as the run has been under Ole, the football we play still ain't that great is it. We should be fucking dominating teams like Southampton yet it's all so disjointed. As mentioned numerous times in the past, we are so overly reliant on Pogba to produce any sort of spark.

For as well as Young has done with what he’s been asked to accomplish the last few seasons he’s a complete liability. He’s doing things on the edge of the our box that he should only be doing in our own half.

Yep, although we are much better under Ole, he's weakened by some players that aren't up to it week in week out. I know we have injuries, that's why big clubs have big squads.

The injuries were always going to seriously hurt us. We had a great win on Wednesday but we are all over the shop today. We should still have scored but. It much Ole can do from the bench either. Hopefully something drops our way early enough in the 2nd half to get us back into it.

We’ve been utter shit. Lukaku, Alexis and Young bad. Rash not great either. Thought Shaw was slow to react to get there for their goal.
On the positive side, it’s my first time in the Stretford End and we’ve sung a bunch of songs I’ve never been able to sing at OT before.

Southampton showed what we are not doing, and that's playing 1 and 2-touch maximum going forward. They were playing around us because it's so hard to mark and keep up when the ball is moving that fast. We, by contrast, collect the ball, carry it forward and then pass, which allows them to maintain their shape a lot easier.
The goal was because the strike should have gone across the keeper but Valery sliced it and it went to Shaw's left and into the upper corner. Pretty sure DeGea was anticipating diving to his right, and Valery got extremely lucky with his shot.
