Ok mate, calm down. We all expected a battering here. It didn’t happen. Yes, not having a shot on target was piss poor, but the effort was good. We weren’t over-run in Midfield by Barcelona, unlike the two games against Wolves. The tone I was on about was stepping up to the opposition. Getting physical and not getting out-run. We play a few teams who are going to try and out-run and beat us with effort. If we can match how we played tonight with more quality in the final third, we’ll finish top 4. Come on mate. Like I said I agree can't fault the effort, but we did fuck all. The reason it's frustrating is because the total lack of any quality from certain players where it counts and they are suspect in defence and have been in many games. It pisses me off for this club.. It's not nearly good enough I agree completely. Which is why it is so infuriating. You can see we’re always close to being a really good side when it clicks. It just doesn’t click often enough. If we had Andreas playing from minute one, I reckon at least one cross lands on Lukaku’s head. |

I’ll also hold my hands up and say I am probably wrong about McTominay. Lad’s been brilliant since the scouse game. Should probably start every game from now until May.

Worst thing is they weren't anything special and still won the game. We had far better chances, not taking them is punihsing us. Lukaku isn't consistent enough, we need a better option up top. Martial and Rashford being two of them. Ole needs to address certain issues, not create more. Playing Dalot anywhere other than RB is pointless and he needs to start with our best XI and go for the jugular like he did when he first took over. Mate, the only real chance we had was the Dalot header he squiffed. We were toothless, but the performance, on the whole, was decent. Not sure how a Dybala or Lewadonwski would’ve made a difference here as the final ball, more often than not was lacking. Sorry I meant compared to them. Agree on the rest though. Toothless is an understatement. Seem to get the ball around the box and do nothing with it then give it away. |

My first time posting on this forum, hello all.
Frustrating loss tonight for me, Barca weren't great at all but we failed to capitalise. Good effort in midfield, particularly from Fred and McTominay, but the quality up front was missing and our final ball often rushed and poor quality. Highlights what we knew all along, we need several quality additions in the summer.
Still only halftime in the tie though so not throwing in the towel yet. They'll come out more in 2nd leg so could be plenty of counterattack opportunities. GGMU.
