Like I said before. We have a shouldn’t be in the XI captain, filling in for a shouldn’t be in the XI captain. Unacceptable. I can’t believe there isn’t an academy kid who could do a better job if we are short. Until the summer I would give the armband to Lindelof or Dave. Only two currently available that deserve it this season. Seeing Young with the armband is as bad as seeing Pogba with it. Its not an accessory or a reward for tine served at the club. Its there for players that earn it and have the qualities, Young certainly doesn't.

Problem is nobody is going to want him and we've just extended the fuckers contract so he's going nowhere. I would be either starting Dalot or get TFM into the mix and give him a run. He's getting that bad I've even considered giving Darmian a shout.

Thought we would get battered so not a bad result overall. Thought Scott played well and he's growing on me every time I see him. Fred hopefully will continue to improve next season. Thought dallot did well, generally they all stepped up to the plate. But young , jesus wept
We have to let dallot have a crack at right back till the end of the season if it works buy a decent right winger to put in front of him that could sort that right side out.
Add a decent centre back with smalling and Lindelof that's a big step forward
But got to agree need changes up front as well , Rom is not the solution IMO but to be fair the service to him at times is dog shit.

I thought we were going to get smashed. I'll take the 0-1 loss. McTominay really did well against them, how about that one moment in our box when he spun away with the ball and sent Vidal swooshing through like he was on a waterslide? Roasted.
All in all, a surprising result, even though it's a loss, there's still a Lloyd Christmas chance.
Lindelof, McTominay, Rashford, Lingard*, Pogba, Dalot, Shaw, Martial can stay. Asterisk on Lingard because as much as I've always championed him he's tailing off now, we may have already seen his peak. We have a bunch of B and B- players but very few at the top. I think DeGea is gone in the summer. Mata is staying but at 30 he really should be moving to Italy now, and he's been my favorite player for some time now, but we don't play a system that can use him, but I'd have thought he would have been key today to getting the ball into dangerous areas. Lingard coming on did not make me think we were about to turn it around.
All our forwards look spent. We need a lot of new players, not just a CB and RB and RW. This summer we either splash out big time or we free fall away from the boys at the top.Players leaving and those who should be leaving: DeGea, Herrera, Young, Sanchez, Lukaku, Matic, Lingard*, Rojo, Jones, Smalling, Bailly. 11. Ouch.

He shouldn't be first choice next season, but he certainly provides adequate cover on both flanks. Earlier in the season he definitely was consistently our best full back. Hardly his fault that Shaw was hit and miss and Dalot was/is "not ready". TFM struggled to hold a regular place while on loan at Palace last season. This season is on the fringes at relegated Fulham. Darmian is as good as gone. Get that lad playing RB at Palace, and we're sorted at FBs for next season.

McTominay and Fred did enough to suggest that they should start every game for the remainder of the season. Pereira should be rotated with them , but no more Herrera and Matic.
Along with Lindelof , we can add McT and Fred to the list of good players Jose brought in. Not that it was that big anyway.. but if this forum had its way, McTominay would have been binned off long ago. Glad Ole showed faith in him to start yesterday. He's growing with each game.

They've only lost once at the Nou Camp this season and that was earlier in the season when they lost to Real Betis. PSG and Juve hadn't lost in longer...we did them. True, but we're most probably going to have to score twice over there imo. It can be done. Definitely.

@statmandave: Fred’s game by numbers vs. Barcelona: 87% pass accuracy | 15 ball recoveries | 3/3 long balls | 3 shots (all blocked) | 2 fouls suffered | 2 tackles won | Lead Man Utd in: successful passes, final third passes & recoveries. 🙌
I cannot believe people thought Fred did nothing yesterday. He was very good. This just proves it.

Made a few mistakes but he's also shown in a few games now that he's got talent, just needs tike to settle in to the speed of the game. One thing I do like about him is his work rate. The boy doesn't stop moving. Fingers crossed he keeps going.

Infuriating yes but we are very much still in this. 1 goal at OT is painful, but we are going in to the second leg of a quarter final based on our away performances so every right to be optimistic in my opinion. Thought Scott, Fred and Smalling were very good tonight, Smalling needs a small bonus thrown his way simply for managing to engineer a perfectly good challenge for a ball that left Messi bleeding on the pitch and didn't get a yellow for it.

Special mention to Mike Smalling, for breaking Messi's nose. After that he was genuinely anonymous. He broke Messi yesterday. Well done .
