Top 4 gets us back in the CL, which is worth hundreds of millions in sponsorship it also is the tournament that every aspiring top player wants to play in, they're 2 massive factors that could affect our ability to get the calibre of players in this summer that we need to rebuild the team. Wanting us to lose to stop Liverpool winning the league this season is short termism at its worst, we don't successfully rebuild this summer and we fall further behind Liverpool and City and get to watch them fight it out for all the major trophies for several more seasons. I want 3 points tomorrow night, top 4 and a big summer window, fuck who wins the league if its not Manchester United. 1. I really could care less how much money our grubby cunting gremlin owners add to their coffers. The more money they lose, the happier I am. 2. Any footballer that wants to play for a club only to play in the Champions League can fuck off as well because they'd be just another merc looking for a payday. That's why we need to act like the Bayern of England and snatch every top English talent there is. They'd know (in all probability) what it means to play for the greatest football club in England. I want footballers who want to play for Manchester United, not UEFA Champions League. Lol so buying the best English talent is a pre requisite for success? Probably a strategy to avoid.

If players only want to be here because we're in the European Cup or massive wages then we shouldn't want them here. That approach hasn't worked. We need to be more clever than that. That's not what I'm getting at, every good young player we're being linked to is being linked to other top clubs, and unless the player happens to be a diehard United fan they'll make that decision objectively based on the offers made (along with their agents of course). Say as a hypothetical we're in for Jaoa Felix, there's also talk of Juve being heavily interested, United can offer better wages so that's a feather in our cap, chances of trophies that puts Juve in a better position. Champions league football in the first season vs Europa league could swing it, if he can't have that here there's every chance he chooses Juve. It's not the be all and end all but it's valued by players therefore it's important. I hear that Felix lad is a great player. If we make top 4 and he comes here what then happens when miss out on top 4 in a couple of seasons and Real show interest? My bet is that he'll agitate for a move. I'm all for signing a strong British/Irish core with a top work ethic before we start decorating it with the cream of Europe. If we miss on the likes of Felix until we strengthen this spineless squad then so be it.

Sancho, Rice, Wan-Bissaka....would be a damn good start and 2 of those 3 are definitely attainable this summer. These aren’t the same overhyped English players we’ve seen from the past, there are genuinely very good players coming up.

As previously mentioned, 4th shouldn't mean anything to this club. If the only benefit of it is to use it as a sweetener to get a bunch of money hungry mercs to join then I'd rather not have it. We need players who will take pride in playing for us, not players who will only take pride playing in the Champions League. Who are these players we can buy that will take pride in playing for United? And do they play for a reduced rate or throw in the odd wage free week? Let's face it they're playing for money whatever way you look at it. I'm sure Aguero, KDB, David Silva all grew up dreaming of playing for City, gazing dough eyed watching their League One play off final with Gillingham thinking 'yeah I can't wait to wear the sky blue' lol.

Liverpool are giving City a run for their oil money with players bought from Hull, Sunderland, Hoffenheim, Southampton and Newcastle. Hardly the cream of Europe. It's not always about buying the most flashy players

Sancho is a yes for me, jury still out on Rice but probably take a punt on him to. I don't see much upside in spending big on AWB, Dalot will be good to go next season and has potential to be better than him. Equating nationality with attitude is folly imo, arguably the guy with the best attitude in our team over the last few years has been Herrera (Spanish) DeGea (Spanish) been a great servant, Valencia (Equador) a United player through and through before his decline. Our scouting / recruitment needs to do a better job vetting new signings to make sure they're a better fit in terms of attitude, nationality pales in importance over that.

Difference is United are one of the biggest clubs in football with the history and success to match. city had to bribe their first batch of superstars because they're literally a nothing club who won the lottery.

It's possible any young player could be turned by Madrid / Barca, but if he can help us have success here before going it would be easier to stomach. A bunch of mediocre but committed players won't provide much to shout about.

I'd snap your hand off if you could guarantee we won here, but the Scouse still ballsed it up.

Our most successful teams always had a strong British and Irish core. Who have we got now who falls into that category? Rashford, Shaw, McTominay, Smalling, Jones, Lingard, Young, Grant. The front 3 are the only ones anyone wants here now.
There was a time when we would pick up or at least try to pick up the cream of the British crop. Instead we've resorted to players like Di Maria who had to be forcibly removed from Madrid to come and never had any real desire to play here.
Our best foreign buys in the past were usually young or unknown talents we could mould into superstars like Ronaldo and Vidic or shrewd buys on more experienced players, often with prem experience who jumped at the chance of coming here like RVP and Berbatov. But they were all desperate to play here and all came into squads that were packed with good British players who would make sure they knew what it meant to play for us.
The best foreign player we signed in recent years was Zlatan for me and although he came late in his career he was superb and his attitude 2nd to none. You know what else? He wanted to play for United, he didn't come for money he came because he wanted to prove himself in England and said he wanted to do it at no other club than the biggest club in England.
These are the type of players we need if we're buying from abroad, not ones who's first reaction is "How much?" One's who are like "Fuck yes I'd like to play for Manchester United." We're going through an incredibly tough period but I'm certain there are players out there who still feel like this about us.

I'd snap your hand off if you could guarantee we won here, but the Scouse still ballsed it up. This is the thing. If we knew they'd drop points between now and the end then I'd be up for going for this. However Ondojt see.them dropping any now, even when they look like dropping them they get extra help from the officials so it puts us in a ah it position. Either way we can play as shit as we want tomorrow there won't be any complaining from me on this occasion.

We've drifted a further half point in the betting, now a whopping unprecedented 13/2 for a home win with B365..
