Don't think anyone has ever questioned his fitness levels,commitment or even his conduct since losing his regular place in the side,but at his age,noboby is going to change his ability level or reverse his inability to read the game. If they haven't questioned it they should. |

sad state of affairs: here we are debating if this clearly unsuitable "captain" should be kept on despite the laundry list of examples he should have been discarded, and Kim Min Jae is quietly wrapping up his deal with Bayern.
Big clubs do big things, while we just "monitor potential signings" and retain the dross.

Yeah, I think this sort of pre-season news is usually players like Luke Shaw who have received criticism for lack of fitness/dedication and want to turn a corner. Or Danny Welbeck who was struggling with injuries.
End of the day, you can’t make yourself faster by training three times a day with Ricardo Carvalho. I’ve never thought “Maguire looks unfit”. I have, however, thought “Maguire looks shit”.
Sign Carvalho if you want.
End of the day, if Maguire wants to stay, he stays. He’s got a contract worth a load of money so it’s up to him really. He’s evidently not in the manager’s plans.

He won't come out & say he wants to leave.
All smoke & mirror's, he will wait for the club to tell him they want him out,they will have to pay up his contract then,don't blame him in that respect,not his problem that Woodward was a fucking moron.
His agent will be telling him to play the committed card,they know our financial situation & the clubs need to shift him off the wage bill & also get a fee for him to help address FFP issues.
