It’ll never build whilst they’ve got a goalkeeper behind them who can’t read the game, command his area and hates crosses as much as Dracula.
They tend to look more assured with Romero behind them, as they can at least trust him to call for a ball and collect it.

It ran it course from day 1.

I'm one of his biggest detractors, but since the City game in the league he's been more composed and looks like an actual defender. Still think he's a PR savvy Phil Jones though.

Iv said it before Harry will be fine with another good CB next to him, up to now he's been let down on that front. Lindelof was a poor buy, Jones is Jones. Lets see how Bailly gets on and if he can stay fit.

If we can be consistently as good as we are in many of the games against the 'top 6' then we really should get top 4...given the respective performances up until now, it has seemed that nobody actually wants it!!

Saw some stats earlier of Maguire vs Van Dijk 2019-20
Van Dijk
Blocks-15 Interceptions-39 Tackles won- 12 Headed clearances- 80
Maguire
Blocks- 18 Interceptions- 67 Tackles Won- 21 Headed clearences- 92.
I also saw that Maguire has made less mistakes that have directly led to a goal. Some food for thought.

Except that last bit is patently untrue (van Dijk has not been at fault for 6+ goals this season) and also most people have eyes.

Yes I'm not sure how they establish the errors piece but that is what's been floating around today online, however Maguire hasn't been directly at fault for 6 plus goals either. That aside Maguire's stats tell a much different story to the one being floated on here, people forget as well he went on a run earlier in the season where he excellent. Not to mention we are 3rd best in goals conceded this year.

1. vs Norwich - Jumped out of the ball carrier's way, who scored 2. vs city - Beaten in the air from a corner 3. vs Newcastle (H) - Easily bullied away from the ball for the assist 4. vs Newcastle (A) - Ball-watching, didn't even realise Longstaff was coming in behind him 5. vs Spurs - Let Bergwijn just run past him 6. vs Burnley - Let his man get in front of him to score 7. vs Burnley - Let his man get in front of him to score (No, this isn't a cut and paste error, he really made the same mistake twice in one game) 8. vs Sheffield United - Ball-watching, yards off the striker 9. vs Brighton - Beaten in the air from a corner 10. vs West Ham - Caught completely flat footed by Yarmalenko 11. vs Bournemouth - Megged by Junior Fucking Stanislas He's been appalling mate.

I think that he's had a few patchy moments but lets be honest you have been nitpicking him all season. He's not been responsible for 1/3 the goals we have conceded in the league.

Go watch those goals. A couple are nit picky but the others are all Maguire. And for a world record defensive signing we should still be expecting much more on the nit picked ones as well.
