Feel for Fred, nothing the lad seems to do is good enough. Doesn't have a solid run in the team to gain any sort of consistency and when he finally seems to be getting a good game or two under his belt he gets dropped. Its not his fault the club paid 52m for him and at 26 I'd still prefer him over Lingard. Far worse players in the squad. Hes not going to get 2 months to prove himself, thats the laws of the jungle at big clubs. Have we seen anything to believe he will be a decent player with a run in the team?

Good job he's not at a big club then isn't it. The lad has done no worse than Periera but nothing is said about him. I've seen plenty to give the lad a chance. We haven't seen enough of him to write him off either.

There is a natural bias towards youth team players, that is definetely true and a fair observation but I dont see any lack of stick in the direction of Periera, lingard or even Rashford at present. Everyones under pressure.

The next question is, should Fred start before the likes of Lingard and Pereira, or even a newly promoted U23 player/youth - and I’d say the answer is no. A youth player might be just as ineffective but they might also improve.

He's had dribs and drabs since he's arrived at the club. He hasn't had the opportunity to improve. This is a perfect chance to do that. Instead we're playing fucking Matic and McTominay together. If you don't give a player a chance how is going to improve? Some of the comments towards the lad are so fucking over the top it's unreal.

If he cant get a start in our midfield over Matic then you have to ask why? Like you said Ole would rather play two holding players that give him a start.

fred and lingard are not playing the same position... Comparing Fred to other players who aren't good enough. I don’t see any hope for Fred is all.
