OptaJoe ✔ @optajoe 0 - Manchester United have failed to have a shot on target in a UEFA Europa League game for the first time in their history (25 games). Blunt.
^But you know, ‘fine margins’. If Darren Fletcher comes on to the radio in the morning and says he’s still ‘optimistic’ I’m throwing it out of the window at work.

Aye he was 2bh but then so were the rest Equally as shit besides perhaps Williams who I thought did well for his first start. That shouldn't need to be said about Williams. Or Gomes or Greenwood. They get a pass. True, was more of a praising for Williams seeing as its first start for the first team. I feel for all of these youngsters coming through right now. So much pressure on them to come right in and instantly perform, giving so much of the senior shit a free pass. I like the current crop (best we've had for a long time) that are on the fringe but we shouldn't be in a position to have to rely on these young players to do the job the senior players should be doing. We should be bleeding these younger in gradually not throwing them in at the deep end.

Williams ,Dalot and even Rojo did well. Ole may or may not be upto the job but squad is so shit and threadbare there is not much anyone can do.
The quality just isnt there , especially in that midfield. fred is shit , matic is shit. Also Rashford has shown zero progress since his debut.

It's not Ole's fault that Woodward offered him his dream job when he did (instead of, at the very least, wait till the season was over and make sure there's a truly solid case for it), even though Ole was and still is not yet of the right level for such a big job.
It's also not Ole's fault that Woodward truly and utterly screwed him over in the transfer window - this is the weakest United squad I can recall (quality-wise, mentality-wise, leadership-wise, you name it). We needed 3 more players this summer, 2 more that should've been able to make an immediate impact, and another 1 like James that should've had some time to adjust and grow into his role.
What I am blaming Ole for is for all of this bullshit that he's saying and for publicly signing off on this squad. The situation is dire, this is not a matter of fine margins, this is a matter of an extremely poor squad being poorly coached, which is resulting in obnoxiously poor results (and performances).

The glazers wont sell while the money roles in. The fans can't stop the money rolling in. Ed destroys the team and makes us shit. The money dries up, the glazers sell. Maybe Ed is a double agent.
Or am I just clutching at straws
Ps wasn't the save from Greenwood a shot on target ?

Empty stadiums is a good place to start.

Empty stadiums is a good place to start. We were talking about this very thing yesterday at work, sadly there are far too many corporations invested in the club (we were trying to name them all with “Googling” try it, it’s fun!), and for every (genuine) fan who gives up their ticket in disgust ,there are ten other “fans” who would replace them. We are now a “brand” NOT a football club, the football is now incidental. It pains me to say that too.

This from Ole last night from the BBC website :
Manchester United put in a "good performance" and were denied a "nailed-on penalty" in their Europa League draw with AZ Alkmaar, says boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United failed to have a single shot on target in an uninspired showing and have now failed to win in their past 10 away games. But Solskjaer saw the game positively and focused on a penalty he felt his side should have had when Stijn Wuytens brought down Marcus Rashford with 10 minutes to go. The referee did not award it and the video assistant referee system is not in use in the Europa League group stage. "I'm very happy with the boys," said Solskjaer. "It should have been three points." He said "you can't even discuss" the penalty decision because it was so blatant and added they should have had a spot-kick during Monday's 1-1 draw against Arsenal for a Sead Kolasinac handball. "I couldn't believe what I saw, same as Arsenal with the handball," he said. "It's frustrating getting these little things. The boys deserve so much more. It's going to turn at one point and we'll get the decisions and then they'll get the results we deserve." Solskjaer had earlier criticised the plastic pitch as one of the "worst ones I have seen for a long while". "This is a good performance and a good point against a good opponent on a bad surface," he said after the game. But it would be hard to blame the surface for United's failure to test the goalkeeper once, with Jesse Lingard hitting their best chance wide late on. AZ had the better chances, with striker Myron Boadu having a first-half goal correctly ruled out for offside. Substitute Lingard walked off with a hamstring injury late on, leaving United to end with 10 men - and Solskjaer expects him to miss Sunday's Premier League game against Newcastle

If the keeper wasn't there it would have been classed as on target.

As I said in a previous thread during the week, Ole is a really top bloke and a club legend but at the same time I'm not a fucking idiot.
For the love of God, don't be telling fans who know what actually happened by watching that garbage with their own eyes, that we were 'very good' when we quite clearly were not in any way, shape or form.
Fuck me.
