I'd be interested to see if our fans did 1/10th of what River Plate did when they went down a few years ago.
Enlighten me?
www.theguardian.com/world/2011/jun/27/river-plate-fans-riot-relegation-despair"It ended 1-1 and the match was abandoned with a minute left to play when fans ripped up seats and threw them on the pitch. The violence spilled on to the streets surrounding the Monumental stadium and riot police used teargas and water cannon to disperse the angry fans. The River Plate players needed a police guard as fans ransacked their own stadium. Nearby shop windows were smashed and more than 70 people, police and fans, treated in hospital. Since the defeat, helplines have reported a marked increase in calls from River Plate supporters unable to face failure of a magnitude they have never had to endure. Psychiatrists have been looking at the impact the club's relegation might have on the nation as millions of depressed workers try to deal with taunts from rival fans. Demand for antidepressants has soared, they say."

I mean the proverbial is really hitting the fan after that shit-show. What’s really alarming for me is that they got thumped 5-0 last week and we put in a display like that. Absolutely terrifying. I mean, Rashford for example, you know take a look at the amount of times when we have a throw in or get a free kick, that he just ambles away totally dis-interested. He couldn’t give a flying fuck. I don't think Rashford is disinterested. I think he's genuinely mentally exhausted. There is a problem with his attitude at the moment - he's too big for his boots - but he has essentially been appointed spearhead of Manchester United's recovery at 21. That cannot be good for him. I've been critical of him and he deserves scrutiny but by now every player gets a pass. I'm missing Fellaini for fuck's sake.

If we got relegated, our owners would threaten to leave the English league and join a Euro league or something equally as daft. They wouldnt sell, they'd think of some stupid friendly competition until we got what we wanted.
Prem would probably panic and create some crazy system like the Argentine one where the teams with the lowest average points across 3 years plays in a play off to see who gets sent down. Protects big teams in a bad year.

Remember the heady halcyon days when Tatty had everything under control in the matchday threads..

Also, for fuck sakes, who did Rahsford have to show him how to be a proper professional? Pogba? Lingard? Looking at Rashford now compared with when he just emerged onto the scene.. he's regressed! He thinks he's a big star because he's been given a huge contract, an iconic shirt number, and doesn't have real quality around him to make it clear that he has A LOT more to do in order to become a real top player.

relegation is not an option, we would be finished. The glazers would absolutely sell everything before relegation, naming rights, b shares, training ground etc. it would put off any prospective buyer even one with oil riches.

I doubt it, Argentina is a shit-tip at the best of times and they don't really need an excuse to riot.

When Fergie went, my mate (who is a Newcastle fan) turned to me and said “you’re just a normal club now”. And that proved to be right. Certainly proved itself correct quicker than anyone thought too.
What separates us from Newcastle really? Endless cycle of managers, shit owners, stadium still full every week, no light at the end of the tunnel, bad signings, chaos from top to bottom, weekly “is this really happening?” moments. We’re probably only weeks away from appointing Joe Kinnear and him calling James Ducker or whoever a cunt in a presser.
Ole’s in a position whereby he’s clearly nowhere near experienced enough, or good enough, to do this job. But he’s got the United job. His pride won’t allow him to walk away from that. There’s not going to be a Keegan England moment. And he did so well at the start too. That was the best it’s been since Fergie, reaching that crescendo in Paris.
But no fucker in the world could get this team winning anything now. These players don’t deserve to see off another manager, let alone one that’s done things for this club that they could only dream of. They couldn’t whiff what Ole’s done for us. This run he’s on won’t tarnish my opinion of him, because since I was a child he’s been one of my biggest heroes. Of course he shouldn’t be managing Manchester United. But this is the team, and these are the results, and this is the plight that these owners deserve. They didn’t deserve Fergie papering over the cracks for a decade. Reap the whirlwind.

This is what really bugs me, I don't have it in me to blame Ole because it really is not his fault. He was offered his dream job - a job he was never ready for, and was then totally fucked over by the people who should've made sure he's given the best chance possible to succeed. I'm holding on to the hope that Ole's biggest contribution to the club will be us getting rid of, at the very least, Ed Woodward, because I've seen more fingers pointed at his direction so far this season than in all previous 6 seasons combined.

‘According to Oddschecker, bet365 are offering odds of just 100/1 for the Red Devils to go down’.
Get on it!

Welcome aboard the Fellaini train. Unfortunately he can’t help us now. ☹️ That's what Mandzukic will do, if it is believed we are getting him in Jan. He's barely a striker at this level now, but will get in their faces and hold the ball up for runners and attack it in the air It's amazing how they all resort to plan b in the end So why didn’t we get him in summer?
