That chunky new boy playing left back just had a nap and let Astana play a raking ball from left to right, to his man, and he just stopped and let the ball get to a forward with only Grant to beat - fortunately the Astana player missed.

Lingard isnt that bad, get a grip of yourselves. Theres plenty of players at united who are the same level or worse. No there isn't.

Lingard with a captain’s goal for Manchester United. That sentence belongs to one man, Lingard is not him.

It's deathly quiet when we are in their half but the moment they cross halfway the crowd ROARS to life.
Stone Cold is down...
And back up without a shoe.
We look extremely comfortable out there. Instead of the kids having nerves, the danger here is that we get TOO confident.

Chong’s touch in the first team has been horrendous I'm not seeing a particularly bad first touch but more his decision-making needs a lot of work. He runs at players but never seems to fool them with whatever he's attempting as a feint or a trick move. He runs at the defender, defender gets ball. Still, this is the perfect match for him to learn, there's almost no pressure by Astana, completely sitting back and letting us take as many touches as we like. Ironically a normal U-23 match is going to be more of a workout than this one.

Chong’s touch in the first team has been horrendous He's got a long way to go compared to a few of the others. He seems the weakest of the bunch. Really like Gomes. Would like to see him playing at No.10 for us more often, especially with our depleted midfield.

Would like to see him playing at No.10 for us more often, especially with our depleted midfield. I want to see Garner in the regular first team, too. This match is so slow and pressure-free that the boys really need to show their stuff. I'd love to see Gomes pull off something audacious like I've seen him do for the youth team.

Shaw looks rusty as fuck. We were lucky his mistake in the first half letting his man go didn't cost us a goal, and just now moments into the 2nd half he gets done again. He's not unseating Williams any time soon.

Oh Chong. Scooped it over from 5 yards. Shaw got forward, cut back, squared across goal. Poor Chong.
And now Astana have scored.
