Looking forward to this, in a weird sort of way.
Hated these matches under Fergie when we were gods and people who had no idea what local rivalry means, said “ well, obviously, United will win.” Wednesday night onwards I would get very little sleep. Bizarrely, maybe, I liked it under Tommy Doc. or Big Ron when dem mickeys were favourites but we knew our boys would get stuck in and generally upset the odds.
Now no-one outside the United Family thinks we have a chance, so to my mind we go there with no pressure.
And - you’re gonna hate me, but: Mickeys or that 100% artificial Arab club with its plastic fans, for the title? Sorry, Liverpool for me, at least they know what football really is. We got along alright back in the 60’s, before we got jealous of them, and then they got jealous of us.

This feels like a cup final. They're going to win the league, nothing we can do about that, but we can be the ones who piss on their potential unbeaten season. That first sentence is so depressing. We used to take the piss out of them and City because playing us was their cup final. It really is depressing. Most of my favourite footballing moments since SAF retired have involved Liverpool losing finals or bottling the league. I think winning the Europa final is the only thing that has come close to giving me as much joy as Liverpool consistently falling at the last fence. What a sad state of affairs. I still can't believe that we've fallen this far this fast. |

The media coverage around this game all about the mantle as Englands most succesful club being handed back to Liverpool.
They will be crowned English champions, its as sure as rain but they will be extra motivated to rub our noses in it with a real hiding. Im hoping the players can find something today and give them a real game. I doubt Rashford will start so I expect to see Greenwood start. What choice does he have?
