That makes much more sense. I’m inclined to agree that the money it would certainly cost to prise Kane from Levy’s cold dead hands would be better served elsewhere, however we spent the earlier part of the season lamenting the absence of a Lukaku replacement. Obviously it’s not Kane or bust, but as there’s precious little else to discuss, was the recent run we were on before the break sustainable? Would the return of Rashford provide enough firepower up front? Or, would we come back to earth and resume our struggles in front of goal and we’d be kicking ourselves for not taking Kane when we had the chance? Rashford’s form pre-injury is sustainable I think. Bruno has been producing his numbers for some time now too so he should contribute to a similar level. And Greenwood should also develop. The tricky one is Martial. But if you bring in Sancho then he can play either wing and lessen the importance of Martial’s goals. I don’t think the blowing of at least 150 million on Kane is sensible when we have other glaring holes. Re: Martial, if he has to stay, I’d rather we weren’t relying on him. Anything he manages to contribute is almost a bonus, which sounds harsh seeing as his goal scoring numbers are decent, but I don’t trust him to be consistent or bothered enough to contribute on a regular basis. If we spend the money on Sancho and a midfielder (preferably two), and get a healthy Rashford back (backs are tricky), we can probably get by with Ighalo and Greenwood as rotation pieces.

On one hand you could say that you should never turn down the chance to sign a player like Kane, goalscorers win games, which wins trophies, and there are very few finer goalscorers in world football than Kane in all honesty.
It would also be a statement signing, going to a rival and taking their star man, is what the United of old would have done, and shows we are still the playground bullies coming to take your best stuff.
On the other hand, the money would be huge, which means it's doubtful we could afford Sancho as well (unless we sell), we have other holes in the team/squad we should be looking at plugging first, and does signing Kane mean Greenwoods opportunites will be limited?
The only way we could really afford both is to sell Pogba, which would mean we'd have to sign at least one midfielder to replace him, but probably two as we're already light in that area, so even with Pogba's sale, getting Kane, Sancho and two midfielders is going to be too much of a stretch of the finances.
I'd say focus on Sancho first and foremost, and if come deadline day we somehow have a spare 120M lying around and Levy is desperate to sell, then tell them we'll take him.

Martial is a quality player in possession , his weakness is off the ball work which i believe Ole can improve.Even under Jose after his initial struggles he actually got into a good run before getting injured.
With Bruno and Rashford i believe he is going to step up and become the player we all hoped he will be when he scored 'that' goal against the scum. NO to selling Martial.

Quite a bit of de Ligt noise in the papers. Possible Pogba swap being mooted. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Sport in Spain saying Sancho has chosen Utd. I've had a weird feeling about him for a long time. Just feel he is coming to OT. I don't even know why!

Sport in Spain saying Sancho has chosen Utd. I try to be wary about reports like these. If nothing else it seems odd that a Spanish paper would have the scoop on an English player who currently plays in Germany.

Spanish papers report on transfers all around Europe constantly, as does L’Equipe in France.
