I was harsh with embarrassing but basically we should be better. How was the atmosphere today? Standard? I’d say that yeah. Bit harder to judge as I was right by the away fans and miles from the Stretford End. The away fans were very quiet, quietest I’ve heard at OT actually.

We’d be comfortably top 4 if Bruno had been bought in the summer.
Fucking Glazers.

Haven't seen the match or replays yet, but was the VAR decision to disallow their goal legit? By the letter of the law it was the right decision. Absolutely, although I think Maguire got away with one (holding) which I only saw when the "goal" was reviewed by VAR.

What a casserole of nonsense this is. It holds no value what so ever. I was harsh with embarrassing but basically we should be better. Not really sure what this stat is supposed to mean. In 99, we had 79 points from 80 goals. In 08, we had 87 points from 80 goals. In 09 we had 90 points from 68 goals. Is more points from fewer goals better or vice versa?

Really? I can get on board with this one though: On James, that was his best performance for a while, tbh. Still not up to the standard, but he's still a kid and shouldn't have been expected to play as often as he has. Still want him to knock the ball and skin the FB for pace though. Like Traore does.

Yeah he's definitely played too much, though that's Ed's fault for letting our front line get so thin in terms of personnel. Hopefully Ighalo coming in will mean James gets a bit of a rest. Agree also he was better than he has been, but I still think he was well off how he was playing when he first joined, hence my questioning of Ole's comment.

We’d be comfortably top 4 if Bruno had been bought in the summer. Fucking Glazers. Something tells me he would have been corrupted and brought down to the level of some of those around him. We can still make top 4 but I think the timing of his arrival was right, he is the main man, no pogba battle, he is fit and very hungry. His attitude just oozes give me the ball I am a winner and I am not down for losing.

Mannchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been singing the praises of Bruno Fernandes after the midfielder played a starring role in their 3-0 win over Watford. The Portugal international joined United from Sporting Lisbon for £47m in January and followed up a good performance against Chelsea last Monday, with goal from a penalty against the Hornets. "The fans are used to players with that personality, mentality and quality," added Solskjaer. "We have got the number 10 position nailed down now. He is a big piece of what we are trying to put together. "In today's market, I think we got a good deal. He has given everyone a boost."
Number 10 position nailed down according to Ole, so he's not going to be played as a box to box midfielder in a 3. Interesting considering the links to Maddison and Grealish. But there is such a thing as having options off the bench and to change formations so maybe they are still a target!??

On another note, i have to point out that playing that weakling Lindelof against the likes of Troy Deeney etc. is pointless.....

Regardless, the transfer this summer has to be Sancho. To me he’s the most important transfer for Utd since Ronaldo/Rooney. He’s potentially that good. It simply has to happen. And if it’s at the expense of Pogba, if it pretty much blows all our budget then so be it.

As it happens the lad who works for me is a Villa fan, he just said that last year he was a lot more central but this season, as you say, he is coming off the left more, would probs be adept at doing either. Defo an option to consider though.
But yes you're right, Sancho is a must!! He would bring so much creativity and balance to our side
i'll be gutted when we miss out on him..........😂

I thought he looked wobbly at first yesterday but calmed down - how much of that is down to Watford simply attacking far less, and how much is down to him improving, is unclear...

Four very difficult games incoming now in the league - Everton (A), City (H), Spurs (A), Sheffield United (H). Regardless of our good form against better teams, this will be tough. If we get 8/9 points I think we'll be in a good place to crack on for top 4/5. Less and we may have lost a significant amount of ground on the challengers, especially if Spurs beat us, and it's unlikely we will find the consistency to catch them back up (though they may have their own lack of consistency to boost us). After Sheffield United it's an international break - by then we should have a much better idea of our standing this season.
Add in the FA Cup fifth and sixth (if we get there - it'd also move the Sheffield United game) rounds, and the Europa last 16 (if we get there), and March is shaping up to be absolutely huge for us. We can't achieve any of our goals in March, but we can definitely fail them.

I would say it's probably down to Watford attacking less, but just my opinion of course. Would assume Bailly will be in line to face Brugge on Thursday which would suggest to me Lindesoft will be in line to start at Everton which will be a big mistake!!
