The resulting lawsuits from lots of clubs, in all comps, will mean everything will be postponed not abandoned. Euros will be moved to next summer to allow competitions to finish as normal ahead of the new season. Euros one year and WC the next will fuck a lot of players for 2022/23... but then the World Cup that year is winter anyway so who knows. When will qualifiers for 2022 be played? No idea. They will have to scrap friendlies and make the most of the time they have to play them. Countries might forfeit which would leave less games to be played. Going to mean a lot of football but the poor mites will survive. Or they could rotate the international squads if they are that stuck. |

So if it were abandoned they’d get lost revenue back? Astounding if they aren’t. Try telling Leeds they will have to make do with getting their money back rather than collecting the money missed from potential promotion. Other clubs around the continent will also be rather miffed at missing promotions they had worked hard to nearly achieve. Insurance won't cover that. |
