I had the Phizer boaster 8 weeks ago & then tested + 3 weeks to the day after having it.
I had zero symptoms, wife who only had two jabs is still slightly unwell after a month, daughter who is 10 & obviously had no jabs, was very unwell for 3 or 4 days & close being hospitalised but thankfully now almost fully recovered.
Get jabbed people, pretty sure the 3rd jab saved me.

Bless you KN that's very kind, was very scary, she had zero sysptoms up to day 5,put her to bed that night all fine, she woke the next morning in a real state. Chest pains, struggling to breath, stomach cramps etc. She has since had ring worm which is quite common in young kids post covid,so we are told.

UK's going to be fucked again soon isn't it?
I was planning on getting back early in the new year but not booking anything yet, just not worth it in case borders close, and/or go into lockdown. Not travelling home just to sit in lockdown for a month.

Some great data visualization platforms have come out over the last two years. I recall initially keeping tabs via a Johns Hopkins platform, just before flying to Thailand in Feb 2020 when there were ''12 cases'' in Bangkok How things have changed since then. I've recently started reading this guy's summative daily stats to see how the globe is trending (hit the ''Archive'' & refresh to get the daily breakdowns). stapel.substack.com/p/day-691

I mean, maybe? There's a bunch of vairables at play, and so many graphs to interpret, so it probably provides quite a lot more information than that! For example, 90% of the infections in SA at the moment are Omicron - estimates are > 80% of South Africans have been infected with covid since the pandemic began, whilst only 26% of the population are fully vaccinated. In my team Legal team at work, 5 out of 8 people currently have Covid and they are all double vaccinated. Discovery's medical data in SA has illustrated that ordinary protection from two Pfizer jabs drops to 25% after 3-4 months vs Omicron. Looks to be infecting everyone just the same, which is interesting! Ultimately, the vaccines seem to continue being able to do what they were designed to do - i.e. prevent death or severe disease for those most vulnerable.

This is a pretty good site for UK Covid data. covid.joinzoe.com/ Also,is anyone else getting the impression that the politicians here in UK are holding their breath over announcing further restrictions? Almost guaranteed!

Not travelling home just to sit in lockdown for a month. I’ve booked to return for a month in May. I’m with you, I don’t want to go through the expense and everything else to be quarantined, but my mum is 86 and not in robust health and so I’ll have to get back sooner rather than later. I’m going to be closely monitoring what’s going on, for sure. PS an English employee of mine just lost his mum to it and has flown back to the funeral. Brought it too close to home for me!

Really wanted to take the family on a proper holiday next year but I really can't be bothered with vaccine passports, quarantine and all other trimmings. Get the feeling Covid will probably be around in this way for years yet. There's no break on the horizon

Almost guaranteed! They certainly are here in Wales. We have 3 weekly reviews, they were alluding to it yesterday & said they cannot rule out changes to restrictions this Friday.
