I just finished Lazenby’s book on Jordan, which is up there with the very best sports books I’ve read. As Jordan himself has said, some people are going to hate him after this show, certainly if it’s as honest as the book was. Because he was a prick an awful lot of the time. He was an amazing talent but also a merciless bully. It motivated his team but others have had success (Bryant, Curry, Bird, Magic) without carrying on the way he did. He’s matured now by all accounts and fair play to him for participating because I can’t imagine it was easy to look back on himself being such a wanker. I have to read that book now. From what I know till now, that mean streak was a byproduct of hyper-competitiveness. But it sounds like that book delves far deeper than most other sources that I have got my information from. I must read it. |

The Last Dance continues to be sensational. Another two stellar episodes. I’m really looking forward to this tonight. I believe the Pistons arrive on the scene. They were tremendous villains. And a very good team to boot. |

And a very good team to boot. The Pistons were the reason the Bulls became so great imo. Overcoming that sort of adversity just makes you better. That Pistons team and Chuck Daly are akin to the Jose Mourinho/Diego Simeone of the NBA - forever toeing the line between dirty and "do what is necessary to win". Although, Laimbeer was an out and out scumbag, I must say. I've got no respect for that man. What does bother me about the Pistons, is they show no respect to Jordan and the Bulls even today. Zeke went on TV a few months back and had the audacity to say LeBron has had a better career than Jordan.  |

I occasionally still see sports rivals from 20 odd years ago and the venom is still there on both sides! |

finally got to watch the first two episodes of the last dance. absolutely amazing. and just now got my hands on the other 6 episodes. gonna watch the next one with coffee tomorrow morning.
