Let's see if I can avoid putting the jinx on this fixture then.

We need to freshen up parts of the team but I don’t envy Ole his task tonight because he has a very difficult choice. Fred or Scott can come in for Matic, that’s a start. I think you could probably see James possibly for Mason who is still a kid and nearly had his leg removed the other night. Palace are quite a direct side so perhaps Bailly for his heading ability.
As I said before, I’m not going to criticise him for the team selection.

I think it would be more advantageous for us to start James, purely based on his pace because we'll really have to get at Palace tonight. I know he's been quite erratic in the games that he's come on in but i do think Ole will bring him in for Mason. Between Scott and Fred, i think Ole will opt for Fred as he's probably the more creative of the two, which we're going to require tonight, i'd imagine.

Beyond Matic there are no obvious changes, but as Stew says some need to be made. And above all we absolutely need to win. Tough one. As long as there's no Lingard or Periera I'll do my best to defer to Ole on the team selection - but if it's not looking good he still needs to be able to manuevre better from the bench (including tactical tweaks as well as substitutions).
Palace have lost 4 or 5 on the bounce and looked very listless. The definition of a 'on the beach' team. Whether that continues, or perhaps provokes a reaction, is unclear. We could do with at least two early goals to settle the nerves that came from Monday.

Whatever about the team that starts, if it’s going badly I need to see Ole being aggressive with his subs. It’s probably the one part of his role I agent seen clear improvement in. To give him his dues, we do now look like we have a clear plan as a side and our attacking play in particular is much more efficient and exciting. But the substitutions I think he can get much more proactive on.

But the other night I thought Fred should have replaced Matic at HT, perhaps we could have moved Bruno out right when Mason was assaulted and played Mata at No 10. Those sort of things. His hands are tied to a Large extent but I’d like him to try and grab things by the scruff a bit more.

kstandhand no need for the PM in the title if it's in 24 hour time. Come on lad, you're better than that. We have high standards for thread titles here.

Up to now Palace have pretty much rolled over for most teams, like you say, "on the beach" but when United come to town you know they'll raise their game like it's a cup final. Every team wants to beat United no matter where we are. Really don't know what to think about tonights game, we do need to freshen up, from midfield we can only rest Matic really, Bruno and Pogba are far too important to the team. I would probably go for Fred to start. Maybe stick Ighalo up top to hold it up for us and bring others in to play, push Martial to the left and Rashy to the right. Got everything crossed though, we've simply got to win.

Sure you everyone noticed that as soon as we went down to 10 men,he could clearly be seen asking McKenna 'What shall we do,what shall we do' McKenna gave him the instruction to go to a 5.

I’m fairly confident of a positive response. Palace have nothing to play for. I’m hoping for a fairly comfortable 3-0 win.
