Pleased for Ole, tbh. He’s a club hero, and glad its worked out for us. As alluded to previous, he needs to be backed in the summer now. That’s players in and out. Concerned with Ole's post match comments re. transfers. 'They know what I think we need and we'll see if we can do something.' Much too passive for me. Put actual pressure on that gimp Woodward. |

I wish the Glazers could read this forum and see how muted the celebrations are for this very modest achievement. For a club our size the champions league qualification should be a given and the fact it’s started to become our main focus is a shambles.

200M spent and we got the same number of points as last season. Brilliant.
Mixed feelings for me. Obviously I'm well happy we got 3rd, but at the same time angry that this is now enough to have me happy. For 25 years I would have been devastated to be down in 3rd.
One on hand I do think Ole has done well this season, to get 3rd and two domestic cup semi finals, plus still in the Europa; but again, I look at the money spent and ask if we've really improved at all this season, especially as Chelsea have 6 points less from last season, Spurs 12 points less, Arsenal 14 points less. We're where we're at more because those 3 all fucked up rather than anything wonderful this lot did. Also thanks to Leicester imploding and winning just 6 of their final 22 games, indeed they only took 24 points from those games, literally relegation form.
Managed to score just 1 more goal than last season as well, although we did concede 18 fewer so that's at least something.
Already said but this window is huge, we need more players, we need to strengthen both the 1st team as well as the squad. A proper club would announce Sancho and Koulibaly/Skriniar tomorrow morning. Take me back to 2007 when the dust was still settling on the season and clubs were just thinking of what they were going to do, when we flew back from Portugal and announced Nani and Anderson had been signed. That's what we need. There'll be a buzz around the club now with clinching Champions League football, lets keep it going by getting a couple of big signings done and dusted asap. *

Please keep it up Carbs, if it's not too much work for you that is. After a bad result or game I usually don't want to see anything related to that but sometimes I come back to it later. I also rewatch some of the earlier goals every now and then. For most of us it's really a great source to have. As I have to rely on rivers for all the games, this is my go to when wanting to see some of the goals again, without having to murder around the Internet. |
