It's one thing to worry about Donny's playing time, I think the bigger issue is Bruno getting injured/burnt out. Then Donny will have to play but won't be match fit/had enough experience of the league. I think Ole is terrified of dropping points in the league but for some games, he will have to take a risk and rest Bruno.

i really don't have any issue with the way they are treating Donny. He has already proved himself to me that he could be a united lifer, so this will all be forgotten in a few years.

Thought he played well today. His game is nothing like Bruno’s though, no reason why hun, Bruno and Pogba can’t all play at the same time.

Donny, for me, isn’t an ‘instead of’ player for Bruno, he’s an ‘as well as’.

Against the fodder opposition especially, I really think this should be the triumvirate. Like Bestie said, no amount of DMs will fix the utter shite that is our CB pairing so we may as well score more goals than whoever is in front of us.

Donny obviously has the technical quality , but i would like to see him take bit more risk and try more forward passes.
He seems to generally play neat tidy safe passes ,gets into good positions , but doesnt drive the game forward like Bruno does. May be because of the difference in playing style in PL and with Ajax.

What like the forward pass that started our move for the first goal? What are people going on about with that pass? It was the only pass he had on, someone suggesting Fred or McTominay wouldn't have made it is daft. They absolutely would. The ball comes to him and he's looking at Rashford in loads of space, if he doesn't make that pass he's a waste of time. Look, I'd like to see him get more chances but talking up minor things he does like he's done something spectacular does him no favours. He hasn't played poorly when he's played but he's also done little to push current starters out of the team IMO. As the above comment says, it's all neat and tidy but needs more. He's probably suffering a little for confidence and rustiness due to the lack of game time but I think Ole is in one of those really difficult but positive situations in that he has a group of midfielders who are all playing well and it's hard to drop them. It's for the new guy to force his way in there by having a bigger impact on the game when he does play for me. I actually think it's a good thing that our new £40mil midfielder is struggling to force his way into our starting eleven.

At best it's clutching at straws for people who continue to moan everytime he doesn't play. I don't know what people are seeing watching that yesterday thinking yeah, he should be playing over any of our other midfielders at the moment. He had such little impact on the game. He was on the ball less than any other starting player on both sides including the two keepers yesterday! And everyone going on about his passing, he gave the ball away more than any other starting player bar Cavani.

I'm beginning to think done people don't understand the concept of rotating players. Van de Beek did exactly what he was supposed to yesterday - give Fernandes a 65 minutes break and not degrade the quality of the team.
It's also laughably disingenuous to talk about all these 'players in form' when up to a few weeks ago Bruno was the only one turning up in any sort of an attacking sense. Pogba wanted out and was playing like it until just a couple of weeks ago.
The gaslighting going on that suggests people are annoyed that van de Beek doesn't start because he's a world beater is nonsense. Plenty of us are, quite justifiably, pissed off at what looks like really shoddy treatment - three minute cameos FFS - and a baffling waste of a big signing.
