Well Mark Hughes thinks a good European tournament should give Giggs a chance of a shot at the job according to the latest reports. That’s the ex failed manager at Stoke , City and QPR. Let’s hope this obsession with giving old boys a shot ends with Solskaer. Some of these ex players needing gagging for the good of the club. obsession is really not the right word in this case, its bollocks. we tried it. also you make it sound like its a stupid idea in general, which might turn out to be the wrong decision in our case. but lets not make it sound like that idea in football is a dumb one. guardiola and zidane, just to name two out of many, show that this concept does work indeed with some clubs. dont get me wrong, i dont think ole is anywhere close enough as good a manager as guardiola or klopp are. but i cant agree with calling it an "obsession" and constantly calling it a stupid idea, because football history simply proves otherwise. and no, i dont want giggs. For every Pep and Zidane there’s a Solskjaer , Billic , or Sherwood . There were many calls for Giggs around the time Moyes was sacked. Van Gaal was supposed to be grooming Giggs for the job after him. Didn’t Munich recently sack one of their old boys? Barca and Madrid also wouldn’t fail to sack an ex player if they were shit either. Unlike us.

The ones who succeed are the exceptions. Generally it doesn't work. Much more often than it does.

If or when Ole is replaced I dont want any ex united players taking over us. Hate seeing Ole getting the shit he's getting and ultimately seeing an ex legend being hung out to dry by those cunts after not even backing him during what should have been a busy and important window.

Remember, he will still always be a club legend when this is all over.

The way forward for me would be a manager who’s a strong disciplinarian, who takes no shit from from the players and gets them to respect the club and give 100% in every game, not easy these days because too many of these overpaid wimps just throw their toys out and sulk.

You have to separate the player from the manager. Loved Hughes but he was a shit manager. Giggs will be the same. I appreciate every trophy Fergie put in our cabinet . No manager comes close for me , but I can still hate him for his role in the Glazer takeover and Moyes. My husband went to practically every game in the 99 season including the Fa cup and European cup. So although he knows deep down Solskjaer isn’t up to it he’s more forgiving than me. Whereas with Moyes he was raging.

There is a lot of turnover at clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid and they still win things. It is not ideal but until we get the right man in place and give him the proper backing it is inevitable.
Jose has been the most successful manager post-Fergie. But it was never going to end well when the owners refused to back him in the transfer market and took Pogba's side and Jose does have that tendency to self-destruct when things don't go his way. Moyes and Louis were bad choices from the outset so no surprises there. And it isn't a massive surprise that Ole is struggling now the honeymoon period is over.

It won't matter, Managers don't sell shirts or generate social media hits. Push comes to shove, managers will never backed over players under this commercial consideration first ownership.

One guy = Obsession. Riiiight... Laurent Blanc turned down the caretaker's gig and some lunatics wanted to give Giggs the job at some point as well. Just because Ole is the only one to have actually been given the job doesn't mean there isn't a whiff of 'Liverpool's boot room' going on. Just as a follow up to this - I think I saw Sparky trying to push Giggs as a future United manager as recently as the weekend? As if international management is a reasonable stepping stone to Manchester United, never mind that it's bloody Wales.

Sparky would be a more appropriate appointment than Giggs, not that I'd want him either.

The problem with this is that the players would simple down tools and play very poorly.
