We have (potential) world class players, in Pogba (don’t hate me) ,Greenwood, Bruno, School Dinners, Cavani (for his previous exploits), Martial (if he stepped the fuck up) DDG, + a lovely Dutch bloke (in DvdB) costing £40 million, and Foley both sat on the bench. So why the fuck can’t Ole get a tune out of them EVERY time they play, given their display against PSG, which no one can argue against, was brilliant ? It’s so UTTERLY frustrating. Love Ole, and always will, but could someone else do better than him? Naglesman ,Flick, Allegri etc? There is a saying in North American sports about players being just good enough to get the coach fired. It means they show up one week and don’t the next, letting management believe a change in coach will get them performing consistently. We have an entire squad full of those players. They got Jose sacked and are looking to repeat the trick. Absolutely this-Although I reckon Bruno is THE sole exception. It breaks my heart (almost) although I thankfully have more important things to care about, like our first grandchild who has just reached the grand old age of 1, bless her. EVERYTHING else pales into insignificance as it should! NOT match-related, but having a grandkid allows you to go into public spaces with her and make stupid noises, faces , gesticulate etc, without anyone wishing to cart you away!

While I agree, i also cant ignore how limited Ole is as a coach. The players we have are ordinary in many positions and ordinary players need good coaching to give them a chance of getting better. A good attitude can only get you so far. Inconsistent tactics, player selection, picking players out of form are all tell tail signs of winging it. We have no footballing identity anymore. Jose went to war with the players and the club, instead of upholding his so called integrity, and hanging Ed and his cronies out to dry, he took hush money and fucked off. Jose gave up on the players, not the other way round.

This lot thinks they’re 1970 Brazil and don’t need to listen to anyone. Jose did not give up on them first. He tried the coaching thing you suggested would improve them/replacing the ones who wouldn’t respond. They downed tools.

Even if what you say is true, there not going to get the right kind of coaching from this lot.

We are still a team of individuals. Has to be the reason why our performances range from great to shite. One of the criticisms even under Jose. Still think a decent coach improves this team. Not starting James is a start. Imagine if you’re Donny watching him start while you’re stuck on the bench.

Another record for OGS he is now officially as good as Frank O’Farrell was ..42 years that record has stood ,he must be delighted because Frank was a top top manager & in other news,he is delighted for the players that we managed to draw 0-0 at home to Chelsea because they really are very good.

I bet the logic behind starting Dan James yesterday was that he scored on our home game against Chelsea last season.
Very poor game, both managers seemed to be content with not losing. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Pochettino and Allegri replace both managers in a few months.

not much to be said that hasn't already been said. they were there for the taking. a newly formed Chelsea team struggling to either defend or score and we didn't capitalise at home.
poor squad selection. very poor subs. no tactical changes. lets just make the change before we are totally out of the league (top 4) running.

Better tactics/line ups/coaching could also do the same.

He also said after the game,it was a good point against a good & he was pleased for the players ffs. Never ever going to be a United manager.

Unfortunately he is and it looks like we’re stuck with him for some time. A real missed opportunity this season.

We’re just...dull in general. Occasionally our forwards click and we raise the pulse a bit but we are a chore to watch in the main. Everton are more exciting to watch than we are. When was the last time that was applicable? 1985?

When was the last time that was applicable? 1985? And all it took for them to do that was to hire a top manager and then get him the players he wanted. It’s hardly revolutionary or rocket science is it.
