But plenty of legends have gone on to be mediocre managers- Keane, Bruce, Hughes, Robson, the list goes on. It’s sadly obvious that Ole is of similar ability. I don’t see how that can be doubted after 2 years and mainly ordinary football and results. There are Numerous better managers in the league and 2 not in employment currently. It’s romantic and foolish to think he’s going to improve.

It’s okay to be happy that we won and at the same time think that it would be wise to replace Ole with a better manager.
I’ve seen enough to believe that we need a manager with a higher ceiling, even though we still have too many passengers in the squad & are run by the worst people in football.

Why do the players skate on here? Other than the scapegoats or ___________ poster’s most hated player, nobody wants to admit that a squad of inconsistent game raisers produce inconsistent results and show up when they want. The players, bar Bruno and Rashford, do not skate at all as far as I’m concerned. But Paul seems to be reluctant to ever criticise Ole, despite the fact he’s just not a very good manager. You can’t come on after a victory but stay completely silent after a shitshow. That’s double-standards. Apologies if I was unclear. Asking about the players was a general observation. However, even Bruno and Rashford have been inconsistent this season, not to the point of doing anything stupid btw. There are plenty of posters who were spitting vitriol prematch and after we went behind who are conspicuously absent now. We both know RoM would’ve been a tire fire at the moment had we lost/drew. I too am reluctant to criticize Ole and didn’t post after midweek either bc I don’t want to hear all the Ole out bs and negativity. I, and I assume Paul as well, see the true cause of inconsistency being the players and a board who didn’t back the manager with more consistent ones.

Regarding Martial , what i feel is despite what he thinks he will be better used as a wide forward on the left where his pace and dribbling can cause lot of trouble for the defenders. Both him and Rashford do not have the movement and mentality/concentration of an elite striker We have all meet people like Martial, it’s certainly not a French thing. They have the movement and concentration, look at the chances they get, they just aren’t great finishers. If you watch Martial or Rashford, when they receive the ball, they normally take it wide of the defender instead of across him like all the goal scorers do, to give them better options. They do that because it’s not instinctive for a wide player. I think there best wide in a front three, they only play up top because we didn’t sign a quality centre forward. I don’t see Martial or Rashford as centre forwards anymore.

I've no issue with being realistic but is being negative in every post necessary? I understand the issues within the club, I get that Ole is probably on borrowed time and that he's struggling. I'll back him until the day he leaves because I see there are bigger issues than just the manager. But at least enjoy the little things when they do happen. Its depressing. We're only 6 pts off top and if we win our game in hand we'll be 3 points 2 points behind Chelsea who currently are 3rd. I'm not saying there's not cause for concern because there is but I also think there's plenty of time to turn this shit around. Our home form is the main problem at the moment, sort that out and there no reason we can't get to where we need to, we've proved it a few times already this season We're good enough. Just not consistent enough. Where were you on Wednesday night? Can’t ignore the fact we’ve been shit far more times than good this season. I wasn't back on here then which is why I didn't comment on it, I'm not ignoring that fact, I completely agree, still doesn't mean we have to be negative with everything.

By any chance do you have a day off? We've won, with a decent performance yet you still choose to focus on being negative. I get it you don't want Ole in charge but ffs can't you at least pretend to be happy when we actually win 🤦♂️ The mute feature works a charm. I've already used the mute button again today. 👌🏻

Totally agree, my point isn't this. Its the united fans that are desperate for him to go. So much so that plenty have actually said they want us to lose just to get rid. Sorry but I drww the line at actively wanting our own side to lose to anybody.

What are his responsibilities as manager?

Dont think you need to get so wound up over it.

it's all about respecting opinions and it's nice to see different opinions as they help one actually look at things a different way. but all that being said no one will convince me that the current manager will get the consistent run, style of play, tactical acumen and world class overall management/coaching that will get us back to the top of the mountain.
If people want to face reality it's simply the fact he is a lovely director of football type person, the work in the market getting rid of the below average players that have worn the shirt has been good. If he makes it through to February he should place ensure he continues the job by ridding us of lingard, jones, rojo and pogba, after that he can hand the reins over to a better equipped manager that will take the players we have to a higher level.
If he is sacked i'd genuinely like him to be the DOF as i believe he knows the sort that should wear the shirt and it's not all about shiny toys for him.

Its not the fact people want Ole out that I disagree with, I see why they want him gone. Its the method in which some want it to happen that I disagree with. I can see both sides of the coin. The frustrating part for me is whilst he looks out of his depth at times there have been games where he's got it spot on aswell. He got Wednesday terribly wrong however today he got it right, even the subs worked. More often than not there's no game plan but then you see some games where the game plan is spot on. Thats the frustrating part is getting everything consistent.
