We’re about to find out how much ambition this club has next month. If they don’t act in the window, there’ll be no excuses and nowhere to hide. A real club looks at where we are with what we’ve got and strengthens accordingly. I tend to agree, but we have to be spot on with our signings and that often involves patience It’s so easy to locate better CB’s than what we have, we should be able to do that instantly.

Its not, you need to sign real quality if you want to make a leap forward, no point spending 30m on someone who is just better. I dont see that many quality centre halves on the January transfer list at present.

Sorry Johnny but that sounds like the kind of thing Woodward says to managers wanting to improve an area of the team. So if we can’t get a De Ligt or Varane then we shouldn’t spend? Totally disagree on this one. Of course we’d love someone of that ilk but I f we can get a semi-competent centre half improves the side drastically. We have all this cultural reboot bollocks already limiting our targets, we don’t need to impose more on them.

We need a big signing at the back or we need to unearth a gem from somewhere. Axel is semi competent, just play him.

Still think we have better options available here already.
Bailly Axel Fosu Mensah
Give them a run out, especially now Lindelof is out.

We gifted Leicester this draw, which makes it so frustrating. I thought we did well in limiting their chances and I do understand the logic behind James to deal with Barnes but why are we left to start with Lindelof at RB? I am a bit surprised Williams hasn’t been given more of a look at RB where he’s naturally right footed. I think that was a view shared by some on here.

His issue as is the case with Bailly is staying fit.

If we're looking for an upgrade on Maguire we could just throw a dart at a list of the top fifty CBs in Europe.

He should never have been left out after his masterclass in Paris. That was a dreadful decision and completely on Ole.

Imagine being so loyal to playing Lindelof that you start him at right back when Axel is on the bench. Or starting Dan James for no other reason than a reward for scoring against Leeds. Why does McT never get subbed? He could have gone off for Pogba today. VDB got zero minutes. Ole has to be ruthless and stop playing favourites.

Letting Leicester back in the game once is bad but twice shouldn’t be happening.

Klopp had it easy finding a better CB than he had. He still waited for VVD despite their entire fan base collectively pulling their hair out

Axel hardly played this season, and played the full 90 minutes at Everton.

Decent enough result on paper but could and should have been more.
Imagine how many goals Rashford would get if he could actually finish the simpler chances? It seems every game we're bemoaning him missing an easy chance, yet he's on 13 this season already. He should be on 20+, and if he was he would genuinely be one of the very best players in the world.
We keep saying it again and again, but we have to because it's so relevant and so obvious, but we so desperately need defensive improvements. We've kinda gotten away with it so far, the attack is pulling us through games, but we've let Brighton, Southampton, Leeds, and Sheff Utd score twice this season already, and managed to win all those games, eventually our attack wouldn't have enough to get the points and so it's proven today. (And that's ignoring Palace's 3 and Spurs' 6).
The window opens in a few days, a proper club would have already identified the right targets, made the bid and started contract talks, ready to announce the deal without delay. Lets see what United do.
