To be honest, we should take some blame for getting ourselves excited for this one. Our league position is due to the failures of teams around us more than anything. We should have always been cautious about this and looking back at it I'm not surprised at the scoreline. Somewhere I expected this to happen but being top of the league and all had me going for a while. No longer. City look strong again. I'd quietly probably have them favourites for the title... bastards.

In some ways we feel absolutely miles away (defence). In others, we feel inches (if Rashford could finish more consistently...). One that would make such a difference would be if Fred or Scotty became good passers. Even one of them being able to pass forward comfortably under pressure would make such a huge difference. They're both great at other things but we just need one of the two players in that midfield to be able to pass well, it's non-negotiable. Right now I think that CM, along with RW and CB, is one of the three great needs in this squad. Neves would be my first choice, Ndidi looks fantastic (not the best passer himself but so good at the other stuff we could have Donny be the other man at CM) and I'm sure there are many others we could afford but will ignore. We need to invest heavily in the defence so we can move away from a two player shield. The best sides have one man in front of the defence who can break up play going towards our goal and shuttle possession to the ballplayers. Ndidi ------ van der Beek Bruno

To me, this is a massive issue. They are both solid, but their passing is limited and in Fred's case I would put it as poor. For a side setup to counter, the inability to move the ball quickly is fundamental.

Really can’t understand why McTominay gets so much game time. A squad player. Fred has improved but needs a better player next to him.

I said after the Leeds game that it was probably the highlight of his career...it felt so much like an out of character one off and I don't think he will ever play as well again... I'll wait to be proved wrong...

He ain't getting a regular start at Liverpool,City,Chelsea,Spurs,Leicester. When we went with a largely unchanged side for the 1ast 10 or so league games last season,he was pretty much sub at best, now all of sudden he is OGS's go to man,his performances haven't improved,he is still as poor as he was last season,if anything his pass completion seems to be getting worse.

That would be admitting we blew 80 million though. It’s basically “My Captain always plays “. He’s clearly undroppable .

Worse thing is, you know he’ll be ‘rested’ for Burnley, less he gets his 5th yellow before the game against the scouse.
