One of our best teams, 06/07, went and played a pretty mediocre Scouse team at Anfield. We barely crossed the halfway line and nicked a winner from O’Shea. Up till then we hardly laid a glove on them. It’s not like this is a new event. It might not be a new event but it's not relevant to now & the circumstances both sides find themselves in.

was some good analysis on MNF last night about how deep our back line sits. Nev did also say we didnt land our RW target that ole wanted and its biting us in the arse this season. Its a crime that we are so unbalanced on the right and its not been addressed, WBS should have more of an impact but he receives the ball then passes it backwards and rarely takes a risk in getting a cross in. Who?

Think I said it before in here; Fergie's United earned the right to go away to the big clubs and battle for a hard fought point. We needed a win here to make a statement and give ourselves the belief we belong in a title race with the reigning (potemkin) champions. The game was there for the taking well before the 75th minute. I don't think anyone would have had any problems with Ole bunkering down for the first half an hour then getting more aggressive. Close it down again for the first fifteen minutes of the second half if needs-be. Just be a little more brave.

Ex-players always talk about the importance of silencing the crowd in the first half hour at Anfield- there has to be some sort of an effect, regardless of how mediocre the actual Scouse team might be. That wasn't an issue for our guys this time. All that said, I'll still take the point and move on. But we've got to do the business against Fulham to justify our more cautious approach on Sunday.

i think both nev and cara both had a point. before the game youd have taken a point but after the game it feels like points dropped. cant have it both ways.
as long as we move on and win the next games and keep ourselves above them its progress. still think the main target this year is top 4/push the league leaders and a cup.
then hopefully the board will finally get the last couple of signings that are required and we will look a proper outfit next season without shoehorning players into positions they dont play.

I think it may be to do with the fact that I’ve embraced the idea that we are in the title race. It’s halfway through the season pretty much and we are top of the league. Yes City are looking ominous but no one else is bar ourselves.

Obviously not, because I am very disappointed that OGS choose not to try & lose a game rather than try to win it,against an out of form side with a depleted makeshift defence & arguably their most dangerous attack player this so far, out injured whilst playing in an empty stadium. Micah Richards said it..you don't win titles playing like that. I'm very disappointed but sadly, not surprised.

Seeing as though he knows a shit lot more about winning titles, in lots of different ways, than Richards.
