I think I'd rather James over Martial for the next couple of games. At least he'd run back after he loses the ball running straight into an opposition defender.
Of course, Diallo should unquestionably start over either (which says a lot given I've never seen the lad kick a ball).

Ole: "We had all the possession, but when you concede two bad goals... it's always going to be difficult. We didn't create enough." "That little bit extra [of magic] was missing. They defended well, take nothing away from their performance." "Their first goal was a foul... At the other end, no foul [for our disallowed goal]. That's two mistakes from the referee." "The second goal we conceded is just so poor, so sloppy... completely out of character. That's maybe down to the season it is as well." "No big inquest... we've been the most consistent team in the last few months, it just hit us today... we go again." Little bit of extra? There was no magic. The whole performance was dreadful. The 2nd goal wasn't out of character either. We have a habit of giving players far too much space around the box. Matic was just ball watching. As Rio said I'm hoping its the massive wake up call we need leading into the Arsenal game. We can't afford to do that again or this title challenge will start being a dream rather than a reality. Another game where everything was off, performance, tactics, starting XI. These need to stop now. There's no excuse for it any longer.

A CM is, IMO, the third biggest priority behind RW and CB in the summer. Matic is done. I know I disagree with some about the long-term viability of a McTominay-Fred axis, but at the very least they need someone to take the slack when they need rotating.

There's no making amends for a result like this either. We can bounce back against Arsenal but it doesn't wipe away the embarrassment of this result and performance.
Probably not the way people see me on here but I'm no great Ole believer. My point is very much one of we're in a good position so I'm not going to spend every game bitching and moaning about small things about the manager. We've had enough genuine negativity over recent years without desperately finding it when we're in the best position we've been in the league post Fergie. Whether that be a false position or not.
But a night like this he absolutely deserves the criticism. The players were a shambles but he has the power to change it and really everything he offered was too little and too late.

Not because I want James there but because Martial just isn't good enough. Hes been consistently shit all season, one of very few you can put in that bracket. Diallo id be half tempted to have on the bench on Sat at least.

I just don't think Ole will ever be good enough. He might get lucky and get a trophy this season. He might even get really lucky and watch as half a dozen teams that should be better than us falter, meaning we get the title. But as much of it will be in spite of him rather than because of him. And don't think I'm blaming this solely on him. Martial needs to be dropped. DDG was dreadful for both goals. Matic is a dinosaur. And none of the rest turned up either. But his tactics were non-existent and a bench that is one of the best in the league was used horribly and late. I've said this before, but I think it remains true. Bar perhaps Newcastle, would any PL club swap their manager for ours? I don't think half the Championship would either. Chelsea are cunts but at least they already realised that 'he knows the club' - which still appears to be basically his only qualification for the job - means absolutely fuck all. I don't think Guardiola had even fucking heard of City before he joined, yet he'll soon win his third title with them in five years. I know Chelsea are trigger happy with mangers but that’s what ambitious clubs do(just not quite as quick as them) I wouldn’t be surprised if they finished above us.

It was said in the thread earlier, we have a severe lack of footballing brains in our team, get some fuckin footballers in for christs sake and stop relying on erratic brainless fuckers who can't pass 5 yards.
We still need a rw, cb, number 9 and another ball playing dynamic midfielder
Oh and a rb to push awb...

Should be something like: Cavani Rashford - Bruno - Greenwood Pogba - Fred Shaw - Useless - Useless - AWB DDG Or, if the 4-4-2 diamond again (which in fairness has been working well, should probably use it at the weekend), then Rashford and Cavani up top with Greenwood getting regular sub appearances and maybe starting one third of games.

I know this is the last of our issues at the moment but why has that knobend Jake Humphreys called this the shock of the season?
Surely the Scousers getting thumped for 7 was bigger

Both goals in isolation were bullshit but we didn't deserve to win anyway with half the side looking like they can't be arsed.
Ran out of words for Tony

He's dropped this season compared to last, but I am ok with him still. He's still mostly a great defender bar the occasional loss of sense. He struggles going forward, but a) this is only his second season in a team that actually attacks and b) he only just turned 23 two months ago, so he has time to learn how to cross, when to overlap etc. Compare that to Martial for example, who is older, has been here longer, appears to have regressed compared to several years ago, and is showing no signs of learning or understanding what is missing in his game.
