Was just doing a bit of research there. I was wondering how many times Smalling and Jones actually played together as a CB partnership, which led me to a discovery. I think we’ve technically persisted with Maguire and Lindelof as a partnership much longer. Maguire and Lindelof have completed the 90mins together 50 times for us in the league, compared to 46 times for Jones and Smalling. Some of those for Jones and Smalling would’ve been one or the other at RB too as that’s how Fergie tended to use them early on. I went with just league stats as I would imagine Smalling & Jones played in Cup games together when we were fielding weakened sides, which doesn’t really count as a first choice partnership. Somewhat unsurprisingly Maguire and Lindelof have a worse PPG playing together too. Lockdown has rattled me too, mate... I think I did intend to make a point when I set out, but it went for a burton somewhere in the second paragraph.

You have functioning eyes and a brain. Anyone can see Lindelof and Maguire is a disaster, you don’t need xG-xFGA*xGS=xGameshit to know what’s good or bad.

If he goes back to DDG martial and lindelof he really is showing a total lack of balls. He has to start trusting other players. Plus we need to know if Henderson is the long term future goalkeeper for us as if he's not playing regularly he's off.

But if it wasn’t for the xSP (expected sideways passes) and the xIYMCNTO (expected ideas your midfielder could never think of) how would we be able to prove Thiago has been class this season?

Only stat you need to know is that this season a defence featuring De Gea, Maguire and Lindelof has been conceding more than a goal a game. And that is with two defensive midfielders ahead of them and an exciting attack that puts most teams on the back foot. They've had enough games together to develop an understanding but the issue is more compatibility and lack of quality.
And totally agree. Henderson needs a good run in the side in case Dave is finished and we need a new keeper. Problem is that OGS has a massive blind spot with De Gea. When asked if Henderson would start he talked about De Gea's good game against West Brom conveniently forgetting all the terrible games preceding that.
Our front line should pick itself this season. Rashford on the left. Cavani up front. Greenwood on the right.

We should win this comfortably but the way we've played against the bottom clubs these past weeks means we could make this harder than it should be.

Thiago must be kicking himself. From 5 trophies to taking orders from Jordan fucking Henderson.

Same sentiments as the West Brom game. It's going to be ugly!

James over Diallo is disappointing too. McTominay not in the squad, hopefully that doesn't last long - I worry about Matic. Martial starting is annoying too, would rather Greenwood got some precious minutes up top.
Lindelof still by far the worst decision though. But I've got quite a few issues with that team, more than usual.
