His management skills also need to be seriously questioned. In my opinion he doesn't have much. He got the job on a technicality and Fergie's recommendation (which, again, why?). His history has no merit which would make him deserving of this job. 2014?

I think he's done a good job of steadying the ship and bringing harmony to the club but he's clearly gone as far as he can, time for fresh ideas with a modern day manager, one who can cut the mustard in a far more tactical game that we have nowadays. But based on Woodward's "clear signs of progress" comments he's obviously going nowhere.......unless fans turn on him when back which probably won't happen so round and round in circles we go...... We’ve been treading water the last 2 seasons. No elite club will touch him when he finally leaves unless their owners are as bad as ours.

As I said in the Chelsea thread. Attacking players on the bench, but only used one. No ambition. No clue. He can fuck off 'upstairs'.

Sadly for us he’s he’s an appalling manager, with no tactical nouse, even worse ,Ed will keep him. Regrettably you are right. In my lifetime he is the only manager we've had that has got me to the point, where there are many more important things in my life than than bothering with United. I don't hate anyone but I've grown to despise him for making me feel so indifferent about the club.

The best scenario is we finish 2nd, single digit gap. Ole speaks to glazers and tells them honestly he has reached his ceiling, they need more experience to kick on to the next level which is competing and winning things. He gets moved to DOF and we get a real coach in there

I think he would do well in the role, it’s just management and coaching I feel he is average at.

Why should he be rewarded for failure?

If we’re looking at an internal DoF then Butt would be a better option in my opinion. It’s similar to what he’s doing now.
However, we aren’t remotely interested in a DoF, internal or otherwise so all this is moot. We absolutely should be interested in one but Woodward.

DOF talk comes around anytime we’re in a low patch, is it just that’s noticed this? It’s not going to happen.
