We had a chance to relegate West Ham in 07 and Fergie played a weakened side and we lost. That still rankles a lot of us as we owed them for the pain they inflicted on 2 title run-ins. We have a chance to set Liverpool back years tomorrow night. Their spending is already seriously curbed and a Europa League campaign is a nightmare to navigate if you are challenging for the title. We are better than they are, so let’s bloody show it for once.

Yup it would have to represent one of the quickest collapses in modern footballing history.
2019: Champions League and within a point of the Premier League title with 97 points
2020: Premier League title with 99 points
2021: 5th/6th place with around 65 points
I think even Moyes would have struggled to match that if he had taken over as Liverpool manager at the start of the season.

The injury to Van Djik has let Klopp off the hook to an extent. Because they have been a shambles for most of the campaign. |

What amuses me is the scouse keep blaming bad luck on injuries, as though a) they didn't have obscenely good injury luck the two years beforehand and b) they don't deliberately play a high-octane style that is consistently proven to lead to lots of injuries further down the line as players break down after several years of heavy pressing. No self-awareness whatsoever.
