I didn't watch the game today. Did we look good? I know it was 4-0, but was that a fair result? We were definitely the better team and good going forward, but lucky to keep a clean sheet, they had a couple of chances and we looked a bit vulnerable at the back at times.

From what I hear, we dominated the first and when we made changes in the 2nd, it started to go rubbish.

I can tell Dalot likes to stir the pot. Between his coded social media posts and the “checking his pulse” celebration today, he makes it pretty obvious Ole doesn’t fancy him.

We obviously have nothing to worry about regarding squad depth, Pereira, Fred and Dalot combine nicely and we score! I just wanted to clarify that my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I wrote that!

I think the issue next season isn't going to be clubs like Everton but whether we can improve our terrible record against Big 6 clubs. We've got enough attacking talent to dispatch of most of the weaker teams. Our issue has always been against the other big clubs or against relegation fodder that completely park the bus. Mid table clubs are our sweet spot.

Mid table clubs are our sweet spot. For me, against the big 6 our issue has always been competing in Midfield, we get outsmarted and out numbered, Ole needs to drop the 2 man midfield of McFred and go 4-3-3, when out of possession the 2 wide forwards can drop a little deeper to almost make it a 5 in there but they'd need to find a balance here so as not to leave our number 9 isolated. Anyway, as i say, Midfield is key and it's imperative we improve this area of the team this transfer window or we could struggle again

I didn't see the game but from what I have read, the midfield of Bruno, Donny and Nemanja did pretty well and was well balanced.
So, as we all know, we really need a Matic replacement...I think Donny could do a great job in that slightly withdrawn role and get the ball forward...
So, who is the best DM that we could realistically get? I'm guessing that Garner isn't the answer just yet?

Bruno, Donny and Nemanja may be the balanced midfield Ole is willing to play in a meaningless friendly but once the season starts it will be back to McFred for balance and Pogba on the left wing and Donny and Nemanja on the bench.
The season has nearly started and it is pretty clear that any vague interest we had in various midfielders such as Camavinga, Saul, Neves was conditional on Pogba leaving this summer which now seems incredibly unlikely. Ole has begun his end of the summer talk about being happy with the squad and it being significantly strengthened by Sancho and Varane and Dalot, Lingard and Pereira coming back from loan.
So I suspect that we won't bother trying to fix our midfield until next summer and next season will represent another missed opportunity to win some silverware.

Unfortunately, you are probably right... We just never seem to be able to get it completely right...this could have been a spectacular window and even though it is still good as far as it goes...it just didn't go far enough...
