AWB had a decent game I must say Easily his best game of the season. Funny too because he got absolutely rinsed by Roy prior. His crossing still wasn’t great, but he even looked better on the ball than usual.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad in a way, Levy is a tool so he reaps what he sows. Just strange how he's received no criticism. Firmly believe if he was here he'd have had plenty of it. Especially with how the media work. He’s received more criticism for his form than his attitude in the media. There’s elements of Shearer about it. He got away with all sorts while he was England captain, never copped any flak. If you compare that to the way Beckham was treated afterwards. British media want their fucking no nonsense, meat and two veg, in bed with a Horlicks the second Corrie finishes England captain. And that’s pretty much Harry Kane in their eyes. On the Shearer and Kane thing, I’m catching last night’s MOTD. They never showed a single replay of Ronaldo’s goal, much less discussed it. They instead spent most of the time talking about Harry Kane, who in Shearer’s words is having a poor season as he’s being asked to pull out wide.

So, I am creating this for two reasons: 1. I have a 100% losing record (I only ever started one thread!) 2. I have a mate (soon to be son-in-law) who is a Spud. He has invited me and my wife over so that the two of us can watch the match. He is hoping that Spurs lose and they get rid of Nuno and I am hoping United lose and we get rid of Ole... So we will be watching the match cheering on each other's teams!!! We are living in weird times... You must be envious of the form yer mate is in this morning

Took a couple of days to bother posting about the game.
1st thought was the same as everyone else really, whilst a 3-0 win is great and everything, it just feels so "blah". It does nothing except prolong the torture.
2nd thought, Spurs are awful. Looks like Nuno is on his way already, Christ knows who'll come in seeing as pretty much every manager already rejected them. maybe Sherwood can come back and tell everyone he's the greatest manager ever again.
3rd thought. I love Cavani. Him and Ronaldo could work a treat as a pair, he works his socks off and does the running Ronaldo doesn't. Mental we've got a forward pair with a combined age of 70, but suppose it just shows how well top athletes keep themselves in shape these days.
4th thought. Ole out.

i dont understand how you can start the game with 8 defenders and call it progress. papered over cracks against a shocking spurs side.
we might as well have Sean Dyche managing if thats what its going to be moving forward.
i actually dont mind 3-5-2 (3-4-3) but it goes to show the absolute shit show planning that we have 2 or 3 of the best young attacking wingers sat on the bench and a CM that was one of the best young players in europe at one point.
we might get a result againt atalanta and city now playing defensive football, but who actually wants to see that. you can still play attacking football with 3 at the back but he needs to change the players who started
if we are moving forward with 3 at the back i want to see VDB in for Mctom/Fred as he can actually play progressive balls forward.

Ole is stuck now regarding the formation. If he keeps this 5-3-2 then he's leaving out some big name players. If he changes back and loses, people will be asking why he didn't keep the same formation. It was sheer panic. It worked, but it's not really sustainable in the long run. If we're going to keep the 5-3-2, we should bring Conte in because that's how he plays. That isn't Ole. It's going to be interesting to see what happens. If he loses the 2 games this week, he should be out on his arse anyway, but I do think the leaches will wait to see where we are at the end of the season. If top 4 is out, he'll go. If we're in it, he'll stay. The Glazers don't care about the trophy situation.

We're effectively playing with 7 defensively minded players. Been desperate to sign Sancho for the last 12 months to fill a void and he's started a system when he doesnt fit.

Its too early to say the new formation worked, one game against a shit side tells you nothing.

I can see the formation change and the chemistry between Ronaldo Cavani and Bruno keeping Ole in a job for a little while longer.
Ole is absolutely hopeless but aside from the leaky defence a lot of problems have come from trying to shoehorn Ronaldo into the 4-2-3-1 formation which left Ronaldo isolated. He looks a lot more comfortable with a partner and Cavani is just a bloody class act.

Fuck the formation. He literally said he's so close after 3 years to being where he wants to be. Then mashed shit up and is gonna bench all our forwards.

This is a first post from me, great site!
It's a weird time to be a United fan right now. There is no leadership anywhere from the board, the manager or the weakest club captain I can remember. That's all evident in the constant flux and lack of any vision
I'm not sure about this new/latest system. It looks uncannily like Southgates England tome me with 5 at the back and two defensive mids, that have very little creativity or ability to hold the ball! A 10 and two forwards. We have such a good squad, that we could play just about any system with a good coach, but this seems like a system for a coach, who doesn't know how to play with the creative talented forwards.
It will be interesting to see how we do against better teams. Spurs were weak and had 0 shots on goal, was that down to us probably not. They have 9 goals in 21 games. I have to say though I really enjoyed watching Cavani and Ronaldo put on a master show and Varane was also superb. Solskjaer is the luckiest manager in European football right now

Spurs are a crap side, Kane is out of sorts and Son has no strike partner, under JM Son looked world class and he helped Kane to shine too. Nuno can not get the team playing and they are struggling to score goals. Ole got lucky facing them when we did. I expected something out of this game beforehand but I did not expect Spurs to be as poor as they were and we did not make them look poor they are just disjointed and really bad. Some of Kanes decision making during the game was worse than Rashfords every time he plays.
City getting beat by Palace was a shock but Palace played well by all accounts and will take points off many teams this season as long as Viera can keep them playing. We should get something from Atalanta but I expect us to get a beating from City who will be keen to bounce back after their loss. If we lose to Atalanta and then lose to City too, Ole has to go, but will he do the decent thing and walk?

Zidabe is coming, and we aren’t paying for another manager to leave their club mid-season. It’s a complete disaster.
