First clean sheet in 23 it just said that can't be right surely? 23 months, feels like.

Ole or no Ole, that's a very good win. Villareal are a solid side, to win fairly comfortably away from home and confirm qualification - including having a great chance of topping the group - is very big. We all saw what happened when Chelsea brought a manager in mid-season in the CL - not saying we'll go and win it, they got a ton of luck with their draw and Pep shitting the bed, but we could put up a serious fight at least.

Loved Carrick at the end having that little chat to Donny, hopefully telling him don't be going anywhere you will get games here

There is a far better team in this squad that what has been on display recently.
Get that top manager and coaching team in asap

That last 30 minutes was probably our best football of the season. High praise for the lads and Michael Carrick's subs were excellent. So happy to go through and with the result. We needed smiles on our face desperately So what your saying is we need to give Carrick a 3 year deal now... Dont give the board ideas lol, we appeared to play better but the opponents were weak and wasteful, we will see where we are on Sunday, glad for Fred and Sancho though as this should boost their confidence.

Barring a positive Covid test or other disaster (touch wood), that'll be the last United game I watch until mid-December. Supposed to fly to the US for two weeks on Saturday morning, missing five games I think unless I catch a couple in quiet moments. I hope when I come back that performances like that are becoming the norm under a new, permanent manager.

Qualified which is a relief. Now get this manager shit sorted before the knock out phase and try and salvage the season.
First half was a bit dull but game changed nicely with the subs. Fair play to Fred aswell. Gets a lot of stick but had a hand in both game.
Made up for Jadon aswell. Will do his confidence the world of good. Thought he was excellent tonight.
Clean sheet aswell which is a nice bonus. Mainly down to Dave who once again pulled us out the shit early on.
Not perfect by any means but a shite load better than what we've witnessed over the last few weeks.

Just to add - a draw against Young Boys is enough to top the group on Head to Head (assuming Atalanta win both of their remaining games). Should give us a great platform to get to the quarters, particularly if PSG top their group over City to prevent us drawing them. Once we're in the last 8, anything can happen, especially when we have Ronaldo (though I fear Maguire would ruin any hope of a defensive masterclass smash and grab against a genuine top side like Bayern).

Good performance, job done.
Rode luck a little but generally solid, made the right changes at the right time (can imagine Ole sat watching goggle eyed shouting out "No! You leave it as is until the 87th minute then bring Lingard and Matic on! What are you doing?!") and scored two good goals.
Finally enjoyed a win again, even with that nagging little voice in the back of my mind saying "few more games like this and they'll give it to Carrick"

Harry's on BT being interviewed, it's almost like he gets wheeled out to do it after every game. Here's hoping Roy Keane and Bestie didn't watch it! 😂

Think Rio said that that was the way we used to play when Ole first took over,by soaking up pressure and scoring on the break. A definite Curate’s Egg of a performance from Fred, but hey, I’ll take that tonight!

We all know but it's worth repeating.
Remember 15 or so years ago, RVN, Raul etc had like 50 Champions League goals and we all thought what a great record?
That's 140 and counting for Ronaldo. Jesus Christ man.

Carrick spoke well and set the side up well too, and made good subs. Hopefully he goes and gets a championship gig and learns the ropes. I’d love to see him return as a proven manager in 10 or so years.
