Sucks that his #2 chose to stay in Moscow. But apparently he will be allowed to add two members of coaching staff. Hopefully it will be enough. Let’s hope their visas are granted a bit more quickly.

i can see players like Fred and McTomminay improving massively. two players that require coaching but have the athletic ability to implement a pressing system.
Rashford and Sancho on both wings can press if coached correctly.
i do have reservations for AWB as he doesnt seam to be switched on at all.

what Hasselbaink said about us having to follow through with this plan is bang on.
if we are opting for RR we have to trust his methods and also get a manager aligned with his philosophy. this system takes times to implement and isn't coached over night. there will be some crap spells trying to use learn it. we have to ride these times out, shift the players on that arent up to it and bring in players that are.
there is no point bringing him in for a 6 months then not listening to him in his next stage.
hopefully now, we have a plan and a way of playing moving forward for the foreseeable future.

Exactly. Hate to use them as an example but look at Liverpool. 1st couple of years under Klopp weren't brilliant, but he knew exactly what he wanted, he was seeing which players could do it for him and who couldn't, got rid of the ones not up to it and handed the board a list of names telling them "you want to win, go get them". We have to do the same, by the summer of 2023 we should have a clear idea of which players in this squad need moving on. Get rid of them, and get the exact players highlighted as suitable. If that means a big name or two (like Coutinho) moves on, then so be it.

Hopefully our timeline is similar to Chelsea's under Tuchel.

A proper manager gets this current squad 4th with ease. Give them the RB, partner for Varane at CB and a quality number 4, and no reason we can't challenge for the title/Champions League.

I think where Tuchel will make the most impact over time is in player recruitment. At his previous clubs he excelled at bringing in talented prospects and turning them into very good players. And that is really what we need to do because the Glazers bleeding us dry we don't have the financial muscle to compete with the oil clubs and we don't have the pulling power of clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern. And of course it is not just about talent it is also about attitude and agree that is something lacking in our current squad.

Ralf Rangnick has been granted his work permit to begin work as Manchester United's new interim manager.
Since being appointed on Monday he has been waiting for the approval process to be completed.
All the necessary paperwork has now been completed, and Rangnick is now able to start the role.
He will be at Old Trafford on Thursday night where Michael Carrick will take charge of the first team for the final time when they face Arsenal.
Rangnick will speak to the media for the first time in the role on Friday. His first match in charge will be against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Really hope he gets a good idea pretty quickly of who needs bombing and what sort of player needs bringing in, we can't have another manager giving yet more chances to certain players to "prove themselves" again when they have failed time and again
