Maguire needs to serve as a deterrent to bidding for Rice this summer. Not because Rice is a bad player or would not do a good job but because the price on these shiny new English toys is absolutely diabolical. What we spend on Rice gets 2 midfielders of equal quality with some change Talk West Ham will ask for £160mill for Rice. You could conceivably rebuild the entire starting XI with that. Who pays that when Bellingham probably goes for a decent amount leas |

Rice is worth maybe £50m max, even with the "England tax" and "Woodward tax" combined; personally I don't rate him that highly but if there's a club that can exceed the stupidity of buying Maguire for £80m it's us.

Apropos of nothing, as there's no rumours I've seen, but we'd be fools to not be chatting to Rudiger's people, considering he's on a free this Summer. Him next to Varane would give us quite a solid foundation to build from. But understand he's after £270k plus at Chelsea.

You can structure it in a way where you have a big signing bonus to Rudiger, then you can then keep the weekly wage in line with players like Varane. |

You then have them, MCT, Bruno, hannibal vying for 3 positions.
Sales of Donny and fred, Pogba off on free would bring in some cash/free up wages. Further wages freed if you let matic go a free.
Lingard free, Cavani off, mata free and Martial sold, that all frees up some substantial wages to get in a striker.
Bailly, lindelof, jones sold, maybe even Axel mean we have some funds for a CB.
Like I said never gonna happen

Nkunku from Leipzig getting mentioned. Just watched quite a few highlights of this guy, seems pretty smoky to me which is why he'll probs end up at Liverpool or City, exactly the sort of player they go for, we on the other hand will hand new contracts to players that are simply not worthy 😢 |

Tielemens alongside McTom/Fred & Bruno would be a massivestep. If that meant signing Lamptey or another RB, a CF and a CB.
that would be 4 very good singings. not enough to win the league but a huge improvement on what we have. a well balanced team ready to add improvement.
lets be honest we are back at stage 1 and its going to take time to rebuild correctly
