We should have bid for isak, after watching him last night that 60m Newcastle paid looks like it's going to be a steal

You won't be when you see him play. I hope you’re right. I watched him for Ajax last season and wasn’t impressed (only once, I must admit). I think it comes down to the fee if I’m honest, which is totally on the board. 8 goals and 4 assists in Holland. £85m. I think the stats can be put to one side. This guy is a shot in the arm imo. The way he takes on the game is breathtaking at times and we need that spectacle in this club. Even Alexander Isak has only about 33 goals in 105 games for Sociedad. He was always talented and yesterday showed great quality. Cost 60 million too. Besides, it's not our money

It's about those magical players you end up telling your kids and grandkids about. That little murmur of excitement anytime that player gets the ball. That's why Saint-Maximin is by far and away the best player in the Premier League. He has that X-Factor that literally no one else has, except the lad we've just signed.

True It's also about balance and that key part that's been missing! We've been badly missing a great right winger and one that is that talented and naturally left footed is rare too. He also works really hard in pressing and getting back. Apart from direct goals and assists, which will probably improve, it makes us harder to defend against and creates more opportunity and space for other other players.

i seen a stat on twitter that at the same age Ronaldinho had around the same stats as Antony and if we only based the player on stats he wouldnt have been spoken about in the regard that he does
im buzzing about Antony, its about time we had a pure entertainer. the last player we had was Di Maria and when he first signed he was magic at times and a pure joy to watch.
antony will annoy the hell out of us as he is still developing but hes going to lift players around him and lift the crowd up off their seat

We're still going to need a really good striker with pace next year and go for that ball playing CM. I think the management will need to be more ruthless next year with some players, even if we have a decent season. Instead of hanging on to players who do ok, they are going to have to cash in and make some big changes.
It's easier to do that after a good season, so the likes of Martial, AWB, Maguire, Elanga, Shaw etc should be sold to get better young players and keep building.
I don't understand how Martial gets a new longer term contract at 270K per week. That just seems stupid to me, because how is any club outside the big 6 in Europe going to pay that.

They actually landed his main target. He chose not to come. The deal those fucking idiots agreed with Barca was not agreeable to FDJ,if it was he would be our player. Arnold would have been told by his agent if the terms are right, he will sign, that is the only reason they chased him for nearly 4 months, without those assurances from the players side, they would never have entered in to talks with Barca. That's basic mechanics of a transfer, get a steer from the player & agent first, then agree a fee with the club. I don't know, I just think FDJ wasn't in the head space for a move and this place looked like a circus at that time. It's different with a player like Casemiro, who had been at Real a long time and won everything and that key moment for him to make the move. The change and challenge plus the extra cash was right for him and it was probably in his mind for a while to make a move like this. If we have a better season this year get back in the CL and the mood improves, we will probably be in a better position to get a player like that. It might actually work better for us and end up with him and Casemiro next year

They keep reminding me those stories. Cunts

No I missed the lovely goal versus our biggest rival… my point exactly you can’t say we haven’t signed entertainers, not all come good. I seem to recall Memphis had people buzzing in the same manner. Pogbas entire career is an entertainment highlight reel and otherwise garbage.

Every team seemed to have enigmas like this going back to the Premiership in the 90’s. I’d happily watch a Middlesbrough game to see Juninho or a Newcastle game to see Ginola. Couldn’t tell you what either of their stats were but it was good craic watching them.
