This is the first managerial appointment that the whole fan base has got behind. Hopefully this is a huge turning point in our decade of shite. Get us back loving the club and the trophies will eventually come. But just entertain us first and get us back enjoying watching the team! The fact the supporters are behind this move will be the great catalyst in stripping down the player power at the club, which has led to the toxic and over entitled culture with the players. We all know of the problems above, but having the supporters fully behind ETH will hopefully restore some order again in that no player is bigger than the club. |

So it looks like van der Gaag and McClaren will follow. I'm glad about the latter, was some bullshit earlier about us pushing back on the appointment and wanting him to use the existing staff instead.
It's like why the fuck would we hire someone and then force them to use someone else's staff.

Looking forward to watching United again next season (haven't watched a game in weeks).
I wish Social Media FC could learn their lesson and be understated about the whole thing rather than doing a whole reveal video / printing his name on the shirt, but I know that's too much to ask for.
We've got Rangnick and Ten Hag- what most of us wanted a few weeks back.
Let's burn the whole fucking thing down and start from scratch. I really don't give a shit about results right now. I just want a team of players I don't absolutely despise.

I refuse to get excited this time. I wish him all the luck in the world because he's inherited a mess and untangling this squad and building a new one will be a mammoth task. I admire his guts to take this on because I'm sure he could have waited for another challenge. Yep, we need to accept that this will take time and trophies simply won't happen quickly. We need to bite our tongues when we inevitably lose at home to Fulham on the first game of the season next season. First step, I just want to enjoy us playing again, never mind trophies. I want entertainment. No. Mourinho demanded signings immediately and won two trophies. That is the standard. If we don't win a trophy next season we should be reviewing the manager's position. |

I want entertainment. He needs 5 years minimum before we're competing. And that's assuming Liverpool and City don't pull even further away. If we're in Europa Conference, that could be a good way, next season, to blood some kids, see who's going to take us later into this decade, and hopefully do well enough in it to go all the way and embed a culture of success and winning things. Nonsense like I saw in another thread if he picks Maguire it'll be #TenHagOut within seconds of the first game of the season is not helping anyone. If Ten Hag picks Maguire he has failed. |

To be fair, Jose's squad was a lot better. Nah, I can't agree with you there mate. Klopp wasn't successful for years and Pep wasn't in his first season. You're setting yourself up for disappointment and stress and if this shit club has taught me anything the last year, it just isn't worth that kind of worry. I'd take going far in a few competitions and just being happy at us playing well. That's just me though. No worries if others want a higher ceiling. |
