Early days. But I think we have seen evidence that: a) Status does not matter for Ten Hag. Maguire has been benched for four games straight. Ronaldo has had to settle for a role as an impact sub. Casemiro didn't walk into the team because Scotty has been decent so far.
b) He is more pragmatic than I thought he would be. Obviously we aren't quite cut out to play from the back and dominate possession and pressing isn't something you learn to do overnight as a team. He is taking advantage of our strength on the counter (i.e. some continuity with Ole ball) while starting to incorporate some pressing and more intelligent use of possession (Eriksen has been absolutely pivotal to this).
c) Players are following instructions and work rate has improved markedly after the Brentford game
d) The new signings all look good so far. He is also getting a lot more out of Varane and Sancho who had a difficult first season.
e) He is giving more limited players such as Scotty and Dalot clear instructions and turning them into important team players irrespective of their individual limitations
f) He is getting more out of Bruno and Rashford. Bruno is getting a lot more involved in games and is working hard for the team and spending less time complaining. Rashford looks more confident and lively and seems to be relishing the opportunity he has been given to play in his favourite number 9 position

Limited exposure to Ajax but saw some of ECL games.
Are we really seeing Erik ball or is this still very much work in progress?

Peter Schmeichel, the only former player I am aware of thus far that has called things for what they are in regards to the petulance displayed last night.

Erik TenHag:
"Yes, I can confirm Cristiano Ronaldo refused to come on against Tottenham. There has to be consequences. It is important for the attitude and mentality of the group. Details are between Cristiano and me. The statement is also clear, he remains an important player in the squad. I'm responsible for the culture, I've set the standards and values. Football is team sport. You have to set certain standards."
"Ronaldo has been removed from squad as it will have a reflection for him, but also for everyone. First time with Rayo wasn’t acceptable, but he wasn’t only one. The second time has consequences."
---------
Can't complain with that one bit. Announcing it while keeping the specifics behind closed doors. Dealing with things the correct way.

For Ronaldo he comes first. He is the GOAT and happy to have him here at United the first time and the this time but in my eyes he is never a legend for us. 1. He forced his move to Real Madrid the first time when United we on the up and up in Europe, the team was built around him. 2. Tried to force a move from Juve to City only to come to United after some convincing still he thought about City. 3. Trying 2nd time to force a move out of United when we could have used his experience to help out the younger players in the squad. Anyone else can disagree but he left me very bitter the first time he left and the manner he left, never a legend for me! Just an exceptional player that at various points of his career played for United.
Fair play to ETH, he has the balls to do the right thing.
You can see it on the pitch, the team is finally pressing as one unit, clearly the guys respect him to follow his instructions.

He's a legend no doubt. We have to give him that. Hopefully all parties can see things through without further disruption until January. I am no fan of the winter world cup but where this situation is concerned, it's a blessing

'never a legend'. 'Kay. Everyone has their opinions, I have mine, you have your right to disagree.
For me you lose that status when you actively try and successfully force a move out of your club.

I am no fan of the winter world cup but where this situation is concerned, it's a blessing That's your view, for me, he is an exceptional player, the very best in the world but he just used United as a stepping stone, we were even the club where he had his best and most productive years. United were on the up and up when he left, we just won the Champions League, he forced a move and fucked off to Real to help them win more Champions Leagues... Even now that he is back, it for no love of United, it was the $$$. Sure he was close to joining City but let's get this straight, City werent going to put him on the same pay scale he is now on at United.

Yeah World Cup is a blessing. Gives Erik and Ronaldo a break from each other and a chance to repair their relationship in the new year. If Ronaldo has a good world cup and scores goals and comes back then he will get chances (because we will be playing twice a week) and if he starts scoring for us he can force his way back into the first team.
And of course he is a bloody legend for us. He helped us win every major trophy. And if he can make his peace with Erik and accept a squad role and get his form back at the World Cup he can help us win trophies this season. He is still our most clinical finisher and that is not a skill you lose overnight.
And if things cannot be resolved behind the scenes then obviously it makes no sense to pay him his massive salary while he rots on the bench so seems to make sense for all concerned to rip up his contract or at least send him on loan so another club can cover some of his wages.

Yeah, for me he is a football legend and a Real Madrid legend, but not a Manchester United legend.
