Ralf can get fucked coming out with this stuff now. He should have tried telling the truth in January, when it actually could have made a difference to our season.

Scotty needs to go. And we could do a lot worse than Bissouma as a replacement. Doubt we'd get much more than £10M for Scotty but every penny helps and players like Garner and Hannibal deserve their chance and Fred has done way more than Scotty under Ralf to suggest he can be a useful squad player going forward. Also would much rather see Donny given a chance especially as he understands the way Erik wants to play. But a proper CDM is an absolute priority. We have no one in our current squad cut out for the role.
It will be impossible to fix our defence in one window. I think all we can do is hope that sorting out midfield will give us more protection, Shaw can stay fit, Varane has a much better second season and stays fit, and we manage to sign a quality CB and RB which will be a good start. Hopefully stripping Maguire of the captaincy and making him fight for his place will improve his form and if not we can buy another CB next summer.
But yeah hopefully we get crushed in our final two games and Erik can press Ralf's case we need a total overhaul rather than just three new signings and keeping most of these wasters.

I don't think it would have made a difference if Ralf had gone public in January. As interim manager Ralf was always in a weak position. The money men were always going to want to save any transfer funds for the permanent manager. And saying in January that we needed a total overhaul would have resulted in even more of a mutiny from players that had shown little willingness to make any kind of effort for him. He is coming out with all of this now because he realized top 4 wasn't on the cards, probably felt completely disgusted by the players, and wanted to make it easier for the next guy.
Obviously the reason we didn't go for Conte was because he would have demanded a considerable spend in January and then again in the summer and wouldn't have tolerated the likes of Murtough, Fletcher or the scouting team telling him who we can and cannot buy. Ralf was obviously brought in with the understanding that he'd work with the current squad and steady the ship and try to guide us to top 4.
The Greenwood situation was unfortunate and it was also disappointing that Cavani can't stay fit and a proper club would have bought a striker in January. But going public at the time wouldn't have changed anything and only torpedoed whatever chance he had of getting the full time job. So I cannot really blame him for that.

Going be a full on blitz this summer. The last time we were this bad was losing 4-0 to Everton, and remember, our manager said that those players would be gone because he was going to be successful and couldn't do it with players like that at the club.
And fuck me that summer was a fire sale, looking at the team that played that day an axe was chopped right through it, Lukaku GONE, Smalling GONE, and, umm; that's it. In fact, the 9 other starters are still here 3 years later. We still roll out the exact same midfield 3 and wonder why teams just walk straight through us.
Fuck me where to even begin with this bunch of (insert expletive here because none of them are strong enough to convey my feelings about them).
